She wanted him to be happier? The notion of that seemed so out of the blue from someone he’d just met, that he thought it was somewhat absurd. Berdly couldn’t imagine why this human would want such a thing for him when they had no prior relations or reason to care to that extent. At least, in his opinion.
Still, he didn’t say as much on the outside. All he really did was give Frisk a look and said, “...Uh, thank you. But I think I’m quite happy enough as it is, so there’s really no need for that.”
