@the-panwithoutaplan suggested I use some new flags that @cockyroaches created as alternatives to the traditional demiromantic/demisexual flags, due to concerns about the triangle.

Hello! so, I hope to be as respectful as I can when i say I am a neurotypical and I am attempting to write an autistic character in a book. If you could give me advice on how, or if I should just avoid writing an autistic character altogether, then that would be appreciated! Thank you!
Oh! I apologize. I used the term "neurotypical" when I really should have said allistic, as I am ADHD. I am not very versed in the subject, as my parents normally don't let me search for these subjects. I'm sorry!

you should absolutely not avoid writing an autistic character altogether, the more representation the better! i don’t really have a lot of advice but check out these posts:
