Summary —
Having awakened in a different time, place, and reality- the Earthling Andromeda's introduction to the brutal landscape of Ferelden is a quiet and suspicious one.
With no known language to readily communicate, an arcane resistance that halts all magical intervention, and the forcible implant into a culture so vastly different from her own, Andromeda must accept that her tale on Earth has come to a violently abrupt end.
However, unknown to Andromeda and those within the ranks of the Andrastian Inquisition, her story lights anew with a cosmically malformed and hungering purpose.
Pray for planet Thedas.
My cat: *is on my bed looking cute*
*I pet her (very gently)*
My cat: *immediately smacks me and then bites me*
(This sort of thing occurs multiple times a day)
The face of a beast who has not been fed in over four hours
We, I am 1hr and 12 minutes into the year and have already had one major scare, courtesy of the Fool of a Took cat managing to climb behind the fridge, through the wall, and into the bathroom. Where we have our grumpy, somewhat feral cat that we've never been able to properly socialize and that outweighs him by 10 pounds. I'm just glad I was in there when it happened, because I genuinely think she might have seriously hurt him otherwise.

Cat got her claw stuck in the sofa. I got it unstuck. She got mad and bopped my arm. And you'll never guess what happened after that.
I WAS going to make an "I love my cat" post, but then she scratched me as soon as the thought entered my head. And now she's on my lap. I don't even know.
STORY TIME
So. When I moved to grad school, I took one of our cats with me (see any of my posts referencing the Voidling for more on her escapades). She has never really been socialized with our other cats, and grew up outside, and so as a result, she is kind of feral at times, and will let you know if she is not happy with you. But on the whole she is a very good and sweet cat. However, she is primarily bonded with me, and so when I left, my mom gave me a whole lecture about how she did not want to hear about how much trouble I had with the cat, and that I had signed myself up for it.
Now we get to the really good part of this tale. Our neighbors across the street foster cats. They happened to get in a little orange kitten. My mother adores orange cats, and has been sad ever since we had to put down our last orange cat over two years ago (he was a menace and bullied my cat, so I don't miss him as much as she does). So the orange kitty has come to live at our house. His name is Peregrine Took, or Pippin. Now, may I remind you that this is an ORANGE. KITTEN. Possibly the most rambunctious a cat can ever be. And so hearing about all the mischief he gets into is making me very very happy. And now we come to this morning. Where I receive this picture from my mother:
I am absolutely thrilled for her. And even more thrilled for me. Because she has to deal with the shenanigans and biting 24/7. I get to come home about once a month and spoil her cat. It's a win for everyone
