I was re-reading my Zuko stuff in the notes app and one of the interactions my Zuko had with spirits gave me an idea that I now really want to see:
Zuko getting adopted by the spirits. He's banished, looking for the avatar running at any spirity stuff he sees like a dumb teenager he is and well… he might as well fix some things if the avatar isn't doing his job as "the bridge" and ask around the spirits if they know anything.
Some tricksters teach him to lie without "lying", both spirits and spirit adjacent people teach him more about the spirit world and how to deal with it. Overall he's got a bit of a reputation on the other side. That's their chaos kitten, careful he bites but he's also helpful
