11 May 2025 ~ Mother’s Day
An appreciation to my mum (who will likely never see this) who raised four kids, most of the time alone, always providing what we needed, and, often, what we wanted.
We were isolated miles away from the rest of our family by a second party, but she found the strength and bravery to walk us away from our abusive controlling cult-like farm life.
She then still found energy to both work through the day and study at night, to eventually get us all the opportunity to get out of that town, and back to the rest of our family. And then, even still, supported us mentally-injured kids as we adjusted to the real world during the turbulent time of highschool and adolescence.
My mum is my hero. She is God, and she is benevolent. I'm a guy, and I aspire to be half the woman she is. Happy Mother's Day to all who have empowered that role - permanently or temporarily - with resolve to better someone's life.
