We're getting closer to my first novel, The Scalebearers, being published! So I want to start introducing you all to our main cast of characters!

First up: Kaj

Witty, handsome, roguish, a no-good rotten thief, these are just some of the colorful words that describe Kaj. A city boy, Kaj is looking to get in and out of Elerrï as fast as possible so he can back to the hustle, bustle, and brothels of his beloved home city of Moreacor.

The realm of Évanvicht is filled with all kinds of people. Kaj is a dusk elvefolk, and while he doesn't know the specific details of his heritage, elvefolks are typically the offspring of a human and an elf, an elvefolk and human, or two elvefolks.

Gillian may be a bit of a dork, but he’s a dork who wants to protect people. With an unusual talent for earth-based magicks, Gill is a Cerulean Mage of the Arcane Convocation. Through his studies, he hopes to gain better control of his abilities to help others.

In Kilead, their version of Christmas is called The Frosttide! A two week celebration of warmth and light during the coldest and darkest part of winter. Decor and dress are inspired by this, with furs, marigolds, dried peppers, and magick lights.

Ortensia dreams of a life of nobility. Lavish parties, fashionable gowns, traveling from city to city to stay in fabulous homes, having a fleet of servants to tend to her every whim, Ortensia wants it all and she’ll do whatever to get it. Even if it means a loveless marriage.

Good morning! Allow me to introduce our next Scalebearer: Valma Chan

A proud member of the Berylwood Bastions, Valma is looking to make her mark as a hero. However being assigned to a slow, small farm town like Elerrï lends more to clearing raccoons out of trashcans than slaying monsters and stopping criminals.

Ava is a simple farm girl with a love of animals, pressed flowers, the smell of the forest, and the incredible ability to take down any target with a single arrow. While empathetic by nature, being the eldest in her family, Ava tends to be a spitfire under the right circumstance.
