Are we living in denial? Hopelessly addicted to things that keep us low and we both make each other miserable yet we’re still sleeping in the same bed and putting a face on for pictures on the internet We hide in the shadows Plastic masks and mechanical smiles

It’s been months since you said I love you with a little gumption in the words And I know that I’m no better We know we’re not happy here so why do we have to beat this until it’s dead?

We keep our screaming matches confined to the steel cage of our apartment But with these paper thing walls Everybody knows everything we hate about each other And still, we’re falling asleep in the same bed

Is it because we’ve fallen into the routine Work, eat, fight, sleep Everyday looks exactly the same with you and every time I try to leave I end up right back at your door knocking a little tune All because I missed the comfort of home

Our voices are hoarse every night and there’s broken glass in the carpet A cigarette still burning in the full ashtray We are a loving fire hazard Just looking for an excuse for this all to explode Neither of us willing to do it and so we scream in each other’s face just so we can keep things interesting
