So, I watched Love Me Tonight [d: Rouben Mamoulian, 1932] cos I wanted to fill in some Mamoulian gaps, and it was a delight from start to finish (and I get the appeal of Maurice Chevalier now), very wittily filmed and the opening scene in particular is fabulous, but the best part was when everyone’s waking up singing ‘Mimi’ and THE PINEAPPLE does singing and dishevelled adorkableness and I never thought something like this could happen.
