This is a well researched piece. Maybe you havenât seen it⌠so Iâm sending it your way :) The âMegulatorsâ are already out in force on Vanessaâs (the writer) Twitter account! Smh. Their idol is truly rude to the staff, which tells me everything I need to know. I love the nickname KP staff have given Meghan: Monster Markle, hahaha! Merry Christmas!

I hadnât seen it. Thank you for the submission! As op-ed pieces go, the writer has a specific interpretation of everything thatâs going on, and has spun the âinformationâ to fit that end. Some of this inforamtion will be new to those who havenât been following this saga as closely as we have, but for me, the only new piece of info was that MM threw a âSayonara Zaraâ party when she hit the big time, and at the party she gave away all her low-end clothes. (Itâs funny how she said goodbye to Zara once she got a side part on a cable show, but Kate, who is going to be Queen Consort one day, still wears Zara. If this story is true, itâs very telling. And also unsurprising, given the kind of labels she started wearing the moment she got engaged.) The piece also confirms that Charles is taking MMâs side. Possibly the most irritating part of this article is that she reinforces the narrative that MM is âmodernising the monarchyâ in positive ways, by âcrouching to greet children and the elderlyâ in an unprete pious manner thatâs unseen within the monarchy. All the younger working royals have done this, and better, without MM. Harry, Kate, William have all done this. What the writer leaves out, is the reason people were screaming âbreach of royal protocolâ that particular day, was because she crouched to greet a kid, while wearing a dress slit almost to her ass, a measly button keeping the slit from reaching her derriere. This is why itâs dangerous to scream âbeach of royal protocolâ with every show of dark nail polish. The US media co-opts this to prove she is a âbreath of fresh airâ. But when they spin the narrative of her modernising the monarchy, they leave out the original pithy complaint (unless they are criticising the complainers) and instead cherry-pick arbitrary indicators of her âmodernizationâ (with a z), preferably those with more gravitas than nail paint. The US âseriousâ journalists are as irresponsible as UK fleet street- they just do it with the garb of social consciousness and elitism.
P.S. I see why the sugars are angry. Even though it is overwhelmingly positive about MM, it does mention that (a) She is ambitious (b) The decision to ignore Thomas Markle came from her. Every article that isnât 100% positive about Saint Meghan deserves censure for sugars.Â
