Meghan Markle fans react to boutique owner's scathing 'villain of the year' attack
Story by Bradley Jolly, Mirror
Meghan Markle fans have jumped to her defence after a business owner branded her "villain of the year" in a scathing attack.
In the picture, Meghan, 44, is wearing a Santa hat with "Montecito Diva" emblazoned across it. The Duchess of Sussex is featured alongside other "villains" including California governor Gavin Newsom, George Clooney and Katy Perry.
But Meghan's supporters are irate, including one who has called Kitson multiple times in one day this week to talk to Mr Ross. The business owner said: "One called the store 20 times to say we 'werenât nice'. She was deranged."
Mr Ross, though, has doubled down on his decision to include the Duchess of Sussex in the mix. He said: "Two months ago we asked our followers who should be on the windows and Meghanâs name [repeatedly] came up and they stated reasons."
Meghan's fans expressed their sympathy for the star this month after her father was rushed to hospital and needed surgery. She eventually reached out to Thomas, the former TV lighting director, amid growing support from her following.
And her following has continued to show support amid Meghan's latest challenges, despite Mr Ross' insistence her place on the gallery is justified. He told the Daily Mail: "We have been getting harassed by Meghan Markle fans. We told them we do this every year and she won one of the spots. Hopefully a retail store can knock some sense into Meghan because her "yes people" are making people dislike her more."
The business owner said customers cited their disdain for Meghan and Prince Harry's criticism of the Royal Family as reasons to include her on the gallery, which also features George Clooney and Katy Perry.
After Harry and Meghan quit their royal duties in 2020 and relocated to America, Kitson, which is in Robertson Blvd, started offering up 'Team Harry & Meghan' and 'Team William & Kate' t-shirts so buyers could back their favourite royal couple.
And the shop has taken fire at the Duchess of Sussex again as disparaging headlines plastered alongside the former actress criticise her decision "not to let go of her royal status".
The scathing headline beside Katy Perry condemns her decision to date "the man who made a whole country hate him" â a nod to the end of her new partner Justin Trudeau's premiership in Canada this year.
Lol. What a clown. đ¤Ą

Had no idea Cosmo was on the Sussex payroll. Angela Levin hit a raw nerve with the claim from the old Suits set. Haven't we all heard that #6 on the call list was a pain in the patootie? Her TV father trolled Angela with a declaration of his love for "Her Grace".
An Insider Claims Meghan Markle Is âSuper Pleasantâ Amid Allegations That Sheâs âDifficultâ on Set
Story by Samantha Olson, Cosmopolitan
Meghan Markle is making her return to acting in an upcoming movie, Close Personal Friends, alongside Lily Collins, Brie Larson, Henry Golding, and Jack Quaid.
Sheâs set to play a fictionalized version of herself in the flick, and according to reports, she has joked that she feels ârustyâ on set.
Insiders share sheâs âsuper pleasant to be aroundâ on set in light of a recent claim she was âdifficultâ and ârudeâ during her time on Suits.
This is not a drill: Meghan Markle is returning to our screens soon with a new project. Of course, sheâs kept busy with documentaries and her lifestyle series, With Love, Meghan, but this marks her first acting role since she played lawyer Rachel Zane on Suits from 2011 to 2018.
According to The Sun, the Duchess of Sussex is set to make a cameo as a fictionalized version of herself in the upcoming movie, Close Personal Friends, which stars Lily Collins, Brie Larson, Henry Golding, and Jack Quaid. A new source has provided some intel on Meghanâs acting comeback, telling People, âShe introduced herself as âMeghan.â Everything about her was very sweet and calm.â
The insider also noted that Meghan was âsuper pleasant to be aroundâ with âwarm energy.â Itâs interesting timing to drop this comment, since royal commentator Angela Lenvin recently claimed Meghan was ârudeâ and âdifficultâ on the set of Suits before she became a Royal.
âMeghan wonât love being told what to do by any producer. Suits actors found her âdifficult, demanding and rudeâ and she was only a starter then,â Angela wrote in a November 6 social media post.
Before sources came through with the latest insight, Meghanâs on-screen dad, Wendell Pierce, fiercely defended her against Angelaâs allegation.
âYou have no idea what you are talking about @angelalevin1. You are a gossip monger looking to profit off of smearing a woman you know nothing about, â he replied, later adding, âIâll focus this anger on the friendship that Meghan and I have and the fond memories I have from working on SUITS. Her grace is something you know nothing about.â
Meghan has yet to address the new acting role and the allegations that followedâbut, according to Peopleâs insider, it was a âbig dealâ for her to even make a cameo in Close Personal Friends.
âShe genuinely seemed excited to be on set,â they shared. âShe was joking that she felt a bit rusty, but it was obvious that she had rehearsed and that it was a big deal for her to be back. And she was great.â
Drama aside, we canât wait to see her cameo.

Oprah must have done this under duress or she hit her head. How could she do this to her unsuspecting fans? The slop Meghan sells through As Ever is NOT what she took to Oprah's house. We all know Oprah got the good stuff that was first offered as America Rivera Orchard. She's not had anything to do with Meghan in years so why now?
Oprah features Meghan Markleâs pricey homemade jam in 2025 holiday gift guide
Story by Janelle Ash, FOX News
Oprah Winfrey is giving her famous friends, like Meghan Markle and Kim Kardashian, a shout-out in her 2025 Favorite Things List.
On Nov. 5, the former talk show host released her annual guide, which first debuted in her magazine, Oprah Daily, in 1996. Winfrey breaks her list into categories, including food, travel, budget-friendly, wellness, kids and families.
In the food section of this year's list, Winfrey highlighted Markle's As Ever holiday drop â their Signature Fruit Spread. The Duchess of Sussex's spread retails for $42. Markle's orange marmalade, strawberry jam and raspberry jam are included in the set.
"Before my neighbor Meghan started her business, she shared her homemade recipes with us," Winfrey said in her gift guide.
She continued, "I love to drizzle it on an English muffin or yogurt or ice cream. I also love bringing a jam or preserves as a hostess gift, and with this pretty box set of orange marmalade and raspberry and strawberry spreads, just add a bow and you're ready to go."
Massive click-bait PR article. Anyone heard of a new TV show called Close Personal Friends? Me neither. It's written in such a tone of maybe - could be - sources say -, that of course I don't believe it. I'm just posting it because it gave me a laugh, the smell of desperation is all over it.
Meghan Markle makes 'massive' return to acting â nine years after last role
Story by Daniel Bird, Mirror
Meghan Markle is returning to acting. The Duchess of Sussex's last acting role was in the 2016 Hallmark Channel TV movie, Dater's Handbook, as Cassandra Brand.
The Duchess officially retired from her time on screen eight years ago after she started dating Prince Harry, and their relationship became more serious. She found fame playing paralegal Rachel Zane in the legal drama Suits, between 2011 and 2018, with her final scene being filmed the year before her exit.
But now, sources claim that she's preparing to step back into her former career, alongside the likes of Brie Larson, Lily Collins, Brit Henry and Jack Quaid for the production of Close Personal Friends. Today, the Duchess was reportedly on set in Pasadena, Los Angeles.
Although she's returning to the screens, it's said she will be playing herself in the Amazon MGM Studios film, which focuses on two couples, one of them being famous, and the other not being famous.
A source told The Sun: "This is a massive moment for Meghan and signifies a return to doing what she truly loves. She has been swamped with offers, but this one felt right. It is Meghan's way of gently putting her toe back in the water and seeing how she enjoys being back on set."
They added that everybody involved in the production had been sworn to secrecy. Meanwhile, her husband, the Duke of Sussex, is said to be extremely supportive of his wife's return to the screen and has been encouraging her to do "whatever brings her joy."
Earlier this year, the mother-of-two admitted that she occasionally missed her acting career. But while Harry is extremely supportive, he admits that one scene of Meghan's left a lasting mark on his mind. Writing in his memoir, Spare, the Duke said: "I'd witnessed her and a cast mate mauling each other in some sort of office conference room.
"It would take electric shock therapy to get those images out of my head." In the past, Meghan has always been open about her experiences as an actress, admitting she struggled earlier in her career. Despite getting countless auditions, directors rejected her, which she says had an impact on her self-esteem.
Speaking to Vanity Fair in October 2022, the Duchess made a very cryptic comment about a possible return to the industry. She told the outlet: "I left Suits right after the 100th episode, in 2018. I didn't think I'd ever be in the entertainment industry again. But the entire culture has changed; streamers have changed things. The ability to create zeitgeist moments like we had in the '90s â where everyone would tune in at the same time for a show or gather for one moment? â that doesn't happen anymore.
"When I was doing Suits, that character, Rachel Zane, was in your living room with you while you were in your pyjamas eating Chinese takeout. That's how connected the experience felt then. But to create a cultural moment or conversation requires something different today. Podcasting has been really interesting in that way. It might be one of the only remaining forums where people are alone to listen. Where else do you have that opportunity?"
When asked directly if she would consider returning to the screens, she quipped: "No, I'm done. I guess never say never, but my intention is to absolutely not."
In 2021, just one year after Meghan and Harry stepped down as senior working members of The Royal Family, it was revealed that the Duchess would consider a return for the "right role". She and Prince Harry later signed a deal with Netflix to produce documentaries, which included Harry & Meghan, and most recently, With Love, Meghan.
Film-maker Jia Wertz told the Daily Star: "Considering that Meghan Markle had a 15-year career as an actress and has now signed a production deal with Netflix, which is taking her back to the world of Hollywood, I don't think it's out of the realm of possibility to think she will return to acting for the right role."
She went on to add: "The bold and decisive decisions Markle has made by stepping down as a senior member of the royal family and moving back to Southern California indicates that she knows what she wants, and has stated that she has no plans to return to acting. Fans may see her appear on camera in her new documentary endeavours, though."
Dang Meghan, stay off Instagram. She's misspelled sandwich as sandwhich. On purpose as one of her dumb food puns or not?
Meghan Markle sparks backlash over spelling in breakfast post
Story by Sead Dedovic, Celeb Tattler
Meghan Markle has once again sparked a flood of comments and criticism after sharing a recipe for a 'fancy' breakfast on her As Ever brand profile
Meghan Markle has once again found herself the target of online jokes after posting a breakfast recipe on her As Ever brand profile that many followers called out for, as they say, a spelling error.
Pun or mistake?
The Duchess of Sussex, Meghan, 44, posted a photo of her fancy morning meal prepared at her luxurious home in Montecito earlier this week. And it wasn't so much the contents of the plate that caught the attention, but Meghan's caption with the post.
'Inspiration for pancakes with a spicy twist! As Ever pancake mix, fried egg + any vegetables from your fridge = a fun and sophisticated version of your favorite breakfast sandwich,' Meghan wrote.
Instead of the word 'sandwich', she used 'sandwhich', which many interpreted as a spelling error. Some fans tried to explain that it was a pun on the subject of 'which veggies', but most of the comments were not mild.Â
Others wondered about the glass of wine or champagne with breakfast, noting that 'details on social media are especially valuable when promoting your own brand'.Â
However, most concluded that the joke missed the mark.
New gaffe in a row
However, this is not the first time that Meghan's carefully staged posts have attracted attention for their details. Earlier this month, while posing in the kitchen with a new Sauvignon Blanc, in the photo she appeared to be holding a jar tongs upside down, which experienced chefs and winter food makers immediately noticed in the comments.Â
Jokes followed that it was her 'first attempt' at making a homemade product, with comments that she was 'holding the tool on the wrong end'.
A week earlier, she shared a post with white calligraphy that many described as hard to read, and back in June, followers were discussing the alleged 'mismatched' color of the fruit in a photo of her picking fruit; in August, some even noticed a tiny insect next to one of the cookies in the photo.
