Another conversation with AJ and Irenos
Note: Hey guys! I know I post a lot of these without a lot of context but they all fit into this story and world I’m building in my mind through AJ. If you don’t know already, Aurelia Juliane is accepted as a librarian for The Existence. Shortly after arriving she discovers that the Librarians are protectors not just organizers. There are a number of events that happen after she arrives and she is confused as to why she was brought into all of this now (after discovering that Irenos is more than a God who knows things about the future that she can’t see yet). The idea is that she starts off a little shy and unsure of what it means to be a librarian, but after something crucial is stolen from the library, she begins to demand answers.
He took a step back suddenly, his lips pursed. “You can’t just-“
“I CAN do what I want, that is this human power you keep talking about. Our independence from you, from THEM. You can’t control us. So I CAN ask what I want.”
Blink. “Humans like to say “well it’s not like we were given a manual” when life gets hard and you have to learn things for yourself. We were not either. We didn’t know what we were supposed to do with the powers at first or the knowledge we held. We had to learn our purpose.”
“So what about us? What about the purpose of humanity?”
“That’s just the thing. You don’t really have a purpose, not one we can see. You created us with purposes so only naturally we found them. But who created you?”
“Ah... you thought we knew everything?”
“I figured that would be the first thing someone would discover about a species.”
“We... well, we can’t. At least we still haven’t found ways to prove-“
“Of course. As for why all of THIS is happening now, I really don’t know either. But I swear to you Aurelia I am trying.”
I sighed, “See you later, Irenos” to an already empty room.
