Obscure Marvel fancast of the day: Sofia Boutella as Cleopatra “Cleo” Nefertiti aka The Asp! (Note: Asp is Egyptian, while Sofia Boutella is French-Algerian. Though Egypt and Algeria are both North African, ideally Asp should be played by an Egyptian woman. This is just the closest good fancast I could find for her thus far.) Hailing from Tanta, Egypt, The Asp is a mutant with the power to generate bolts of bio-electricity that she calls “venom blasts” which seem to have paralyzing effects on foes similar to the venom of certain snakes. Asp is a longtime member of The Serpent Society, a guild of supervillain mercenaries who all have snake-themed codenames. However, she has also broken off before with two of her friends from the Society, Black Mamba and Diamondback, to form their own trio called the B.A.D Girls. On her own time, she also works as an exotic dancer, and seems to enjoy it a lot, doing it even when she’s not in any financial need. Asp is very loyal and courageous when it comes to her friends, as well as very polite, well-spoken, and sensible/intelligent. She also considers her dancing to be art, as well as great exercise , claims it is “fun to see men slobber”, and is hostile when Captain America speaks of it as degrading herself. While “Cleopatra Nefertiti” seems like it simply MUST be a stage name, no other name has ever been revealed for her.

Finished Asp wearing the bedlah! No shading, no background, I just haven’t colored ANYTHING in SO LONG that I’m happy just to get this out. I enjoyed it, I really love any excuse to do beautiful costumes with lots of little details.
