Defined by years of hardship, Kotomi is a determined and self-interested woman- able and strong of body, sporting broad shoulders and toned musculature. A plethora of vivid, rich and colourful tattoos cover the vast majority of sunkissed skin; bright and as saturated as the day the ink first anointed her. Gang markings, all, the keen of eye would notice- particularly those individuals involved in the Eastern criminal underworld.Ā

The White Asp | So deep and twisting are the roots of her past that even now they bind her still. Once proclaiming to never involve herself with the criminal underworld again, the idea of a crime-free life was swiftly reneged in favour of a return to that which she knew intimately. Assuming the moniker of the White Asp, Kotomi has managed to maintain a small but noted presence in her old line of work. Drugs, illicit goods, smuggling- some even whisper of hit contracts, personally carried out by the Asp herself. Rumours, of course, as she was rarely wont to involve her own self with her work.
Vice & Habit | A creature of indulgence and excess. Want and hedonism. Layers upon layers built up from her time as Yakuza, Kotomi oft spends her times in the seedier parts of whatever city she happens to spend time in. Gambling halls, drinking houses, brothels- an addiction that taints her blood.
Ronin | The mantle of responsibility did so poorly fit her. Eschewing her adopted clanās traditions and shirking the duty forced upon her, Kotomi has gone rogue. Prodigal in her talent with the art, the rebellious Shinobi is ever voracious in her consumption of knowledge pertaining to her profession- be it occult, martial, philosophical or theoretical. Background means nothing to her; heritage, morality, origin.
Hidden Art | For a brief moment, before everything was torn from her, Kotomi held a small amount of renown as an artist in Kugane. Her work was characterized by moody lighting and a palette of dark colours. To speak of art is to speak to her soul, and she so rarely gets the opportunity to do so.
Alchemic | While the majority of her income comes from her mercenary work, and the various investments made under her pseudonym, alchemy has become a well used part of her skillset. What once started out as a means of brewing her own poisons, potions, salves and, in some cases, narcotics for her work, recent cycles have seen her branch out into freelance work. Her craft is not always illicit, rather she has a particular knack for the creation of Eastern remedies for common aches and pains.
