(I'm going to preface this by saying that I don't usually re-watch/re-read things. The fact that I go over any of these more than once is already a testament to my appreciation for them)
1. Inception
I just love this movie, it's ingenious, intriguing, exciting, dynamic, fun, has an amazing cast that delivers a great performance and it's still to this day that I regret not having watched this on cinemas when it came out. It's honestly one of my absolute favourite movies ever. I do wish there was more of Eames in it, he is easily my favourite character and, believe it or not, that's not all to do with him being portayed by Tom (not all I said). But I have such appreciation and affection for this movie and all characters that it's simply one of my most re-watched things (which isn't saying much but well).
2. Venom
They're just fun and easy-going and entertaining. It's a superhero comic movie, it can be silly, playful and exciting; it's what you get and I love that. Tom's Eddie is a great, fun, lovable and multifaceted character and Venom is silly and badass and adorable. Their relationship is bonkers and exasperating but also somehow terribly endearing. It's a love story, guys, and it managed to make a pair of characters and a story that I had mostly ignored before now be of my faves.
3. Dunkirk
Again, this goes beyond Tom's character, even tho I really like his performance as Farrier and I could even say he's my favourite character. I just loved this movie, even tho it stressed me out and hurt sometimes, it's full of tension and adrenalin with a constant contrast between deceiving calm and danger and action, and it does a grerat job making you care for so many characters in so little time and with such little, simple dialogue. It's a great movie that I sometimes, when the mood hits, feel like re-watching. And if I get a bit extra excited when the Spitfires appear, well, can you blame me? (no, you can't)
4. Mad Max Fury Road
What can I tell you? This movie in fun. It's hella exciting and so dynamic and has some wild scenes and it's all so over the top. It's a rush and I enjoy that. Also love Tom's Max, he also hits a soft spot, he might be very capable of violence in order to survive, but there's a painful rawness to his behaviour and personality that makes you care and worry for him.
5. Rock'nrolla
Listen, you may or may not know that Snatch is one of my fave movies. Well, this is basically Snatch 2.0, but with Tom. I guess I'm into Ritchie's humour? I don't know, it's silly and fun but also sometimes a bit unnerving or offputing. Handsome Bob is such a fun and endearing character too, so yeah I've re-watched this once at least.
