Noooot... very specific, actually. It’s probably because I haven’t fully fleshed out my stories. I do have a couple characters (Yuhua and Thane from Of Dragons and Princes) who I do have some idea of what they look like. Maybe I’ll post some of my sketches here someday.

5.) What’s your favourite trope to use?

Family drama! Soooo much fun to write. I also love found family and that trope where villains become anti-heroes.

6.) Did you do NaNoWriMo this year? Why or why not?

No, sadly I didn’t. I was really busy with school this year, but maaaybe next year. Fingers crossed!

7.) How do you handle the dreaded writer’s block?

I take a break from what I’m working on and go do something else!

8.) Where do your characters fit in the cinnamon roll meme?

Well in the case of most of my stories it’s a bit early for me to pinpoint which characters are my cinnamon rolls, but at this point in development I’m pretty sure both Queen Elena and her lady-in-waiting, Lithia, from The Head That Bears the Crown would fit into that category.

Queen Elena is the young queen of Esdaroth; she grew up with her younger brother, Prince Eugilus, her cousin, Prince Tritus, and Ivona, the main character of the story. She’s a long-suffering big sister type, very responsible and serious, and loves her siblings very much.

Lithia was Elena’s lady-in-waiting and best friend growing up. They did everything together, and their bond was really close up til around the time that Lithia married a noble of a court.  Lithia passed away in childbirth soon after, and her husband soon followed her during the Plague. They were survived by their son, Ivain.

Elena built an orphanage for young plague survivors like Ivain, and often stops by to play with him.

9.) What do you wish you’d see more of in stories?

In a word, D I V E R S I T Y.

More women, or, well, more well-written women, in general. More male characters who are comfortable enough in their masculinity to be gentle and soft and kind and genuinely caring. More POC characters! Particularly Chinese characters (because I’m Chinese and hey why not?) More neurodivergent characters! More families who genuinely love and support one another. Platonic and supportive boy-girl relationships that stay platonic and supportive. Bonus points if they’re both straight. Actually, more platonic and supportive relationships in general!
