Why.. Why did it feel like she was being watched?Ā āThe sooner I leave the betterā she thought to herself as she kept walking.

āNow, how can I help you? Make it either profitable or very interesting, and I can almost assure you I will be willing to take up your cause.ā
fact: envy likes trading things. favors, compliments, insults, punches. anything.
tell me a fact about your character and Iāll tell you one about mine ;; accepting
out of coins ;; Nico is quite the trader himself! Heās damn good at using the barter system to get what he wants. He doesnāt trade compliments or insults or punches -- heās much too reserved for any of that, and he considers praise a very special thing that is not to be given out lightly or frequently -- but heās good at exchanging goods and favors. And heās especially good at making people wind up in his debt, tbh. After just a short while with the Inquisition, most people owed him somethingĀ or other.

āI havenāt seen you here before,ā Flint says.Ā āAre you new in town?ā

His lips freeze just an inch from her flesh.
What is he doing?
In honesty, pure and undiluted as the creek from the mountains, behind the hard bones of his face and his inflamed skin of embarrassment, he feels... pity, for her. This--- creature, entity, faux-sapien, is obviously Not Human, and he knows it, and he knows she knows he knows it. What She is, what she parades herself behind the cloak of skin and hair, is something beyond his knowledge, beyond the tubular library so finely kept and sorted. But every sifting page of Knowledge is malleable, and easily grasped, and he has no worry over how or when.
Now, now, daālen, itās just a bruise! Here, let me kiss it better.
She had studied her purpled flesh with an alien fascination, her dull eyes glistening like a dollās. He was fascinated watching her. He had reacted on impulse, strung by his heartstrings so tightly he nearly choked.
āThou has never had a bruise before.ā Beyond petty politeness, past the prettiness of powdered pleasantries. He cocks a brow at her.

It was certainly an odd yet interesting situation. One that left Hawke wondering to himself if he should walk around opened shirted more often or not.The ties to his linen shirt had been pulled undone and left a generous portion of his chest exposed. Hawkeās intentions had been to simply cool down. An eyebrow arched in surprise as Envy stooped in, lips brushing over a pale scar upon his sternum. The warmth from her kiss lingered even after her lips had lost contact.Hawke didnāt understand her intentions and certainly wouldnāt complain, but he couldnāt resist joking. āA tad bit late to kiss my wound better, but I appreciate the sentiment none the less.ā He smirked.

Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā One of the things Hawke had grown oddly fond of about Kirkwall was the people. With a band of misfits often in his wake, he had learnt there were some interesting characters out there and naturally developed the habit of watching the crowds when he was alone. Lowtown was certainly a fruitful place to amuse himself with such a thing. Unlike the wealthy folk of Hightown, people here didn't adorn masks. They were themselves. Hawke sauntered along, completely ignored by those who had to constantly work to maintain their lives unlike himself. That was a good thing about this place ā it reminded him to keep his head out of the clouds. He'd long adapted to the usual behaviour of Lowtown's inhabitants and so it could often be just as simple to spot someone who didn't belong as it would be amongst the nobles behnd the high walls overhead. People here kept their heads down and all seemed familiar with the run-down labyrinth of streets. So the woman across the way didn't go amiss. Hawke pondered for barely a few seconds before making up his mind to approach her. Curiosity was a temptress. āM'am.ā He tipped his hat to her before he had fully stopped in her presence. A thin smile flashed across his lips. āForgive me, but... You're not from around here, are you?ā

His head was beginning to ache more and more as the long days passed on by.
It ached with strain, it ached with thoughts, it ached while thinking things twice over with twice the consideration and double everything else, though not necessarily coming to the same double conclusion. The frustration was building, which had been why the mage chose to bury himself in the busy work of his latest makeshift clinic rather than go out.
He could have also sworn that he made sure to tick off the lantern outside, but apparently that wasnāt going to stop visitors anytime soon. But Anders didnāt have the heart to turn away anyone, especially when the busywork seemed to take the form of a terrible writerās block.
He welcomed the distraction.
āGreetings,ā he called over his shoulder. āIāll be with you in a minute.ā
