So, Riot Games, the creators of League of Legends, decided to release skins for four of their characters based on K-pop idols. But because Riot is so rich and has that "Frick You" money, instead of just a regular ad, they decided to hire two actual K-pop artists along with two American artists and create fictional group called K/DA. This is the video for K/DA's first song, POP/STARS
The neon lady is the character Akali, who is voiced by Soyeon, a rapper from the group (G)I-DLE. Most people found the neon bit of the video to be particularly inspired, and along with Soyeon’s vocals, it became viral.
Mind you, this is still all to sell some in-game character skins. Riot is so extra and I love it.
(no need to post this but i gotta Vent™) in star trek deep space nine there’s a character named Odo who really should have been aroace. he pretty much was until they forced out this stupid unrequited love thing with his female best friend and i just???? hate it so much. also most of the fandom ships him with this guy so that’s also frustrating that no one else headcanons the character this way. also i’m still annoyed that they forced him to be straight in such an awkward way :/
