💥~☆ This is extremely indulgent, it takes a while for everyone to figure out their gender and sexual identity. To everyone that reads this fic, no matter if you medically transition or not, no matter if you 'pass' as the gender you are or not, no matter what family or friends or bigots in this world say, your gender is valid.
You are who you are and you are loved and cherished. This blog is a safe space and I wish everyone in their journeys, no matter what stage they are at well.

Ever since you had first joined the crew, Whitebeard had clocked that you were different. How you shrunk away from being called 'miss', how you had pulled out your cutlass when someone had dared to call you a 'little lady' in the crew.
You had smacked Thatch with the handle of your sword when he had called you that. It was meant as a polite joking formality.
But overtime? The crew had stopped using any feminine words to address you.
They had even started to call you by the name you had been given from birth, finding that every time they had used it? You seemed to shrink back and cringe quietly.
Whitebeard had called a meeting on deck whilst you were asleep in your quarters that night. To not use your name, the Yonko wanted all of his family to feel comfortable and this was obviously something that needed attention.
Thatch started to call you 'mate' at first, but it slowly devolved into calling you 'brother' like he did with Marco and Jozu.
Years had passed and Vista especially had started to leave more masculine clothes next to your quarters, the ones that he didnt fit anymore as he aged. Though, he had made sure to get rid of atleast most of the blood that was stained on them.
Izo had quietly taken you aside, the gunslinger from wano knew exactly how to use makeup to make himself present more feminine with his identity and now? Now Izo was helping you to figure out how to contour more masculine.
Izo didnt just do the makeup for you. Hed found a shard of glass from a porthole leftover from a marine wreck that had decided to go against the Moby Dick. It lost, badly. Pretty much immediately.
"Here, look, start by sharpening your cheekbones. Typically you want them like a sideways abstract V. Then? You need to contour by your eyes, though try not to make it look like you have a black eye, hmm?"
You had gotten the hang of it faster than Izo thought you would. Izo could feel the swell of pride as he remembers just how Okiku had looked when she had first taken his advice for her makeup.
Ace was the one who first brings up the subject directly rather than skirting around it, in his typical cannonball fashion. Soot covered his hands from his adventures in a nearby island and the second division commander was in an especially upbeat mood from exploring.
Ace grins as he slings his leg over a barrel and sits next to you, tipping his hat back. He slings his arm around you and looks at you, nothing but warmth in his eyes.
"I know that you dont like that name. So what should we call you? Names are important"
It takes a good minute and Ace swears he almost starts sweating because of how nervous he gets that he might have offended you. You were family, this was important.
You say as you lean against his side and Ace is immediatley reminded of his youth in the rare moments that Luffy used to go quiet and needed comfort from him or Sabo. He tightens his arm around you and his grin splits wider across his face.
"My brother, y/n. Hah! Has a good ring to it! Now cmon. Thatch is cooking your favourite tonight"
He slaps your back and then hops off the stool and starts to run, skidding into the kitchen and some of the storage crates from excitement of getting the first bite.
Marco had picked up on the fact that you were always shifting your shirt. He didnt approach the subject on deck, but one night when everyone else had already gone to sleep and a few of the others were on night watch?
Marco had walked up to you on deck.
"Y/n. Forgive me if im wrong, but do you want me to do something about that, yoi"
He points towards your chest area.
"I know that Jozu has been helping you work out. Id have to take your vitals and do some blood tests, but I think you'd be a good candidate for it."
Marco turns to you, and for a minute theres a flare of panic in the usually composed doctors face as he starts to backtrack.
"...Thank you. Id...really like that"
You say as you look up at him. Marco pushes his glasses back up so he can see better and nods.
"Keep doing physical activity but dont exhaust yourself, we will come back to this and ill perform the surgery once I get the tests back. It will be good to see you at the infirmary in the morning so we can get the tests done and this process started"
In the meantime whilst waiting for your tests to come back, Vista had taken out some of his barber equipment. The man kept an immaculate moustache.
"Y/n! Good to see you lad, come here. Let's see if I can work my magic"
The Fifth division commander was known not pnly as the great 'flower sword' and the strongest swordsman on the entire fleet. But he was also known as the barber, Thatch himself got his iconic hairstyle from Vista's skill.
Each part of Vista's barber equipment had a rose petal or rose flower engraved into it. The comb was made from thick clear resin that had rose petals encased within it.
After an hour or two. You have a new hairstyle. Vista was good at shaping and coming back to different parts, he was a patient man and he made sure thst you liked your new hairstyle rather than just agreeing to it for ease.
Marco had asked whether you wanted his flames to heal the scars or whether you wanted your scars visible by your chest.
If you didnt want the top surgery scars visible? Then Marco would use his pheonix flames to heal over those scars. Making sure that they were sealed properly so the chances of infection were significantly decreased.
If you wanted the scars visible? Then Marco had called Ace over, after all, those wounds needed cauterisation in order to actually make sure they were sealed, these were still open wounds and therefore the risk of infection would be very high if they weren't cauterised. There was only so much that Marco could clean his tools as a surgeon in the pirate era.
"There we go, well done yoi"
Marco smiles as he pats your back.
Ace had made sure to hold your hand as he activated his devil fruit and burned the scars on your chest. Marco had painkillers beside you for when the process was over.
Thatch had came up to you a good month or two after the surgery was completed. Marco had told him to wait a while and the doctor was strict about recovery times.
Thatch signals you to come over and moves through the countless boxes of food supplies, the smell of salted caramel apple pie wafted through the air, Pop's favourite.
Crossing through a few rooms, you eventually get to an area that has been set up. Ace had gotten his tattoos from Thatch and pretty much everyone else on the crew had too. Thatch wasnt just an artist in cooking, he was also an artist in tattooing.
The two of you spend a few hours just running through the possible designs that you could get over your top surgery scars if you wanted them.
Sharks, sea shells, trees, flowers, bones, animals, hell even a whitebeard pirates jolly roger across the scars.
Thatch would leave every now and then to check on things in the kitchen and give others commands of timings and then come back within a few minutes.
Thatch mocks up a design and he places the template across your chest.
"Thats what it would look like, id say keep it on for a while. Make sure that you want the design, its permanent. If you dont want it though? Then those are some damn sick ass scars brother"
"Now. Want to sneak some food before Ace can get any?"
Whitey Bay had quietly stolen some testosterone from a clinic in Sabaody whilst out on a stroll and she had quietly left a case by your quarters if you wished to use any.
"I thought you would like to use some. If not? We can sell it on the black market cant we?"
She'd grin as she takes a long drag of her cigarette. Blowing smoke to the side as she chuckles and tips her hat.
"If you run out? Then we can always make a pit stop. Its always a pleasure to steal from nobles, watching them not even notice that some medicine is gone."
Whitey Bay's lips quirk as she grins at you.
"Though, im sure that I can convince Betty to let you go to Ivankov if you would like a more permanent solution for T if you dont like the patches or needles"
Whitebeard is proud to see you look much happier than you were then you first came to his crew. You had flourished into your own person, a brother to all in this crew. And a cherished son to Whitebeard.
You belonged here, you always would belong here.
"Y/n...My son. Look at how hes grown"
Whitebeard would muse from his chair one night, taking a large swig of sake.
"Hah, no kidding pops. He's much happier huh, yoi?"
Marco says from his perch on Whitebeards shoulder, looking down as you and Ace both wrestle eachother for the last bit of the caramelised pear tarte like brothers that had faught since childhood.
"Im glad hes found his place here. Ive always wished for family Marco. And well, Ive found it with you all."
"Y/N! CMON! LET ME ATLEAST HAVE A BITE, DONT IT EAT IT ALL INFRONT OF ME!"
Ace shouts and Marco just shakes his head.
"We haven't had a single day of peace and quiet since we set sail Pops"
Whitebeards chest rumbles as he laughs, shaking a mast of the Moby Dick.
"GUARARARARA! Don't complain son, you love the chaos on this ship!"
