For the among us show, I wonder if the crew of the skeld was gathered with the hopes that they'd get killed off (beyond merely MIRA's total negligence/general sinister intentions). Like you said they've got the conspiracy theorist who's already caught on to the fact that aliens are real and they like to kill and the two unionizers, but obv Mira would want to get rid of Purple who's a witness to their gross negligence, and even if Red signed the NDA they probably consider them a loose end and figure it's best to get rid of them anyway.
Then MIRA fills out the ranks with, maybe not people they actively want to dispose of, but people they still consider "disposable", like humble worm farmer, a hippie gemologist, and a goth geologist (and it just occured to me that the reason Black wasn't given anything but the most cursory of equipment was because MIRA didn't want any actual study done on the Ore+).
The only ones that don't really make sense with this paradigm are Orange, Blue, and White. Orange is a model MIRA bootlicker, after all, but this might just be a case of "no matter how much you dedicate yourself to corpo they'll just grind you up like fodder," while you could make an argument that Blue's genuine sense of ethics and care for life isn't what MIRA wants out of a doctor making them a target. That just leaves White, who, as the child of someone mega-rich (and possible higher-up of MIRA themselves, considering we see white crewmates flanking the MIRA CEO!) really doesn't make sense as someone being set up to die, unless they just genuinely got really unlucky. Or their parents pissed someone even high up at MIRA off.
But yeah looking at it I really get the impression that this crew was specifically gathered to be slaughtered.
Anon you might have the biggest brain EVER.
This reasoning makes so much sense, I never thought about applying it to everyone on the ship like that until now. Holy.
