For Thala’to- Yes, very much so when you look at his race. He was raised in Ul’dah, and so for the culture he was brought up in then it’s not a misfit. But he is very much non-traditional in the sense that he doesn’t buy into the whole “Visit a lot of keeper ladies, make babies” philosophy and has suffered through quite a lot of negative press in his extended family because of it. 

Good thing they’re dead now. 

Thala’to would disagree with the notion of deserving anyone better. He doesn’t view himself as being all that good a match for a mate. Heck.
