Just Like Everybody Else || Baizens
Luke was kicking himself. Not literally because he wasn't sure what would happen there; he was still pretty drunk and, honestly, high because the E hadn't totally worn off yet. He was just trying not to get caught tripping. It was only the second time he'd ever done it and it figured that was when the cops were called to bust up the college party. Everyone was underage, but he was the most underage and apparently that meant he'd made this cop's night.
He was just trying to get out of it without getting booked into jail, which the officer had repeatedly threatened. There had been a sob story (that was really fuzzy) about the guy's daughter being killed by a drunk driver when they were both leaving a high school party. He'd heard more than he cared to how much this guy detested underage drinking and... he just wanted to go home. Except he couldn't because parents. He was really relieved when the officer's radio went off and notified them both Carter was there.
"Who is this guy again? And if you lied and he's not an adult...."
Luke blinked and kept his face neutral. Between the E and the alcohol, his head was spinning and his ears were buzzing. He didn't actually know if that meant it was wearing off or not, but he was positive it meant the cop had illed his buzz. Officer Dickface.
"I'm not lying, sir. He's my brother. He's looking out for me and my sister while my parents are out of tokwn. He's nineteen." He pursed his lips and looked toward the window, ignoring the way it reflected his own image back at him. "And trust me when I say he's going to make me earn this."
Luke knew Carter wouldn't tell their parents; he also didn't doubt he was gonna have to somehow make it up to his brother, but he was still grateful the guy was here. He was only trying to sell it so the cop would just let him go.
"He should. You screwed up. You're on a bad path, Lucas. Maybe jail time would be good for you."
The door opened and the lecture stopped and Luke thanked a God he probably didn't believe in. He didn't say anything to greet his brother, but he made eye contact and hoped to high hell the message was get me out of here. Please.
