I'm going to tell the story of how Mr. John Green unknowingly made the last few weeks of my Sophomore year revolve around him.

Many months ago, I decided to read this lovely book that had so many people obsessing. Around this time I started getting really into Shailene Woodley and later Ansel when Divergent came out. So when my friend decided that if FL won the demand our stars contest she was going, I decided it would be my mission to go to that with her. A few weeks later, we were packed and driving 5 hours in her mom's mini van to the Dolphin Mall in Miami, where we spent 24 hours waiting OUTSIDE, sleeping in the parking lot, waiting in front of the stage, waiting in line ALL DAY. OUTSIDE. IN FLORIDA. IN MAY. Not the best experience. But our earliness payed off, as we became tight with the woman in charge of the event, who hooked us up with tickets to meet the man himself, Mr. John Green at his 'tumblr meetup'. We also were in the very front row, and basically 5 feet away from the cast. Meeting John made the hellish experience that was the event worth it, as he was delightful and made me so happy to be in his presence. I'm not kidding. He was possibly my favorite person I have ever met, acting so normal I felt like we had been friends forever and not just met 5 minutes ago. He also signed a paper for our teacher, who is deeply obsessed with him (extra credit x10000 for us :) A week or two before the opening date of the movie, we were emailed by the company that the woman we met in Miami worked for asking us if we wanted tickets to a screening. This is how we ended up seeing our little infinity on May 28th, sitting in the reserved section of the theater no less. Only a week later, we lined up, first in line once again (as we did all 3 events) to feed our pleasures at The Night Before Our Stars, where it was great to finally share this joyful, special movie with everyone. In between, many shirts were purchased at Hot Topic, and much crying occurred when we could spot ourselves in the background of instagram posts from Nat, John, and Ansel from that miserably delightful day in Miami.
