My brother asked me today if I had an idea for cover art for my novel. When I said no he said he'd like to try. Just for fun, but he was genuinely interested and wanted me to give him the document to read.
Keep in mind this is my brother, the kid who never ever talks or shows interest in anything that's not a retro video game.
So...in my novel my main character has dreams. And every dream sequence, I tried to throw the readers for a loop. It builds suspense and such. This was my first reader's response:
"Well it worked. And ever time I realize it's a dream, I'm ready to strangle you for making me think it actually happened. Not. Cool."
Guys, I officially made a reader upset about my characters! I win! :) (Seriously though, you have no idea how proud I am about this.)

Well, folks, there you have it. Draft two is finished. 61,221 words, 136 pages, 23 chapters. Plus a prologue and this weird thing that might be an epilogue, but probably not. Oh well.
