So let's talk about UM first and foremost; bro is as stiff as a board. Who shoved the immobilizer up his aft?

'Ultra Magnus, Sir'. Also when Jackie simply said "you" when he saw UM, I laughed pretty hard.

Something of note, while everyone, including the 'natives', had to call him sir, he felt no need to correct Ratchet. I feel like that was a very good, and subtle, way to show Magnus' respect for the doctor. Or Ratchet is actually pretty high on the military ladder.

Oh and let's talk about the predacon, DUDE IS AMAZING.

The animation on him is fantastic, the flame ball riding up his gullet after a short transformation on his breast? Unf, animation kudos. The flame effects themselves were pretty good too. Also the way the moon silhouetted him was fantastic and made him look so batman-esqe, in the fear department that is, that i really dug it.

Then we had the fact that after he came back all battered and bruised after ACE FIGHTER PILOT ULTRA MAGNUS bashed his head on a rock (SUPER AWESOME AND HILARIOUS) Shockwave was petting him. Can anyone say awww? I also found it cool the way the robo-reptile snarled at Starscream. It was so nice, and his head vibrated with the noise.

Finally, let's talk about Optimus. ... We've seen him have better days. The detailing on his chassis and face is fantastic, and it makes me depressed to think of the leader in such shallow hopes. I think that the good leader might actually be so hope-less that his only reason to inaugurate the amiable, but still a novice, Smokescreen, is only because of desperation. I don't think, in any capacity, that Prime would actually give Smokescreen the Matrix, at least not until Smokescreen was at least older than Bumblebee.

Besides his look, he acted so sad and strained! I really cannot praise these animators enough. The retreating of his optics, the strain in his neck servos, the shaking of his hand as he grabbed 'Screen; perfect.
