Fellow Pern fans, I am trying to find a heavily Pern inspired text based game I found in the Pern tag in like 2020. It is not Dragonchoice! The creator had written it all on a platform that is made for these kinds of games and I quit playing after I lost my progress twice but I was so invested in the story. I'm actually writing a post with a whole dinner of recipes, completely unsolicited, and the temptation to write the whole thing out like a text-based RPG w recipes being interactable objects is overwhelming.
"On the table before you, you see a small bowl of [BUTTERNUT SQUASH SOUP], complete with a little drizzle of cream and a pumpkin seed. A bread basket with slices of [CRUSTY BREAD LOAF] passes you."

TTRPGs suitable for: Play by Post!
My first ten or so years of role-playing were purely play-by-post: warrior cats and dragons adventuring on online forums and message boards (shout out to Darkflame the dragon and Coldstone the kitty.) There was one very memorable Fallen London role-play over email too!
I suppose the modern equivalent would be a game in DMs, or maybe a discord text channel. In any case, for various reasons, many people prefer to play games in written form! However, some game systems are difficult to utilise in this format.
Here are some games that make for wonderful text-based adventures. All are GMless and/or diceless, so there's no awkward halt while you wait for a GM's roll.

Hello! I've made a few posts in the past, but I have a discord rp just about to get up and running! The first event will be held next week, and we have a few characters ready to get going, but there will be access to character-on-character interactions, with some npc chats too, in the meantime and between events!
It will be a text-based rpg, the kind that you used to see all over discord but seem to have faded away in the last few years.
