Kiwi RPG spotlight: Day Six
It's Kiwi RPG Week! While ideally you'll hear about kiwi ttrpg content year round, this is the week where we really focus on sharing the cool stuff made by our community- from standalone games, to supplements, to actual plays.
This year, I'm going to introduce a kiwi-made rpg each day! Today we have:
Cortex Prime nā Cam Banks (Rusty Sellsword Design)
(Ko tangata tiriti ia)
Cortex Prime is a multigenre ttrpg published by Dire Wolf Digital. It's the system behind Tales of Xadia and, as of 2026, is an option for designers who wish to create and publish their own games using the framework. This program is managed by the system's designer, Kiwi RPG's own Cam Banks.
Cortex Prime has been incredibly influential in my game design journey. I can't recommend it enough. It incorporates a full polyhedral dice set (minus the d20), using different sized dice to represent the strength of different Aspects and the importance of different Values to a character. It uses a roll and keep method. It's a great introduction to lots of ttrpg tech and I think every designer should give it a read!
I had this post queued, but what great timing! My physical copy of Cortex Prime arrived today.
