My new PbtA-influenced, solo journaling game dropped today! A free preview of things to come.

Do you like games about befriending monsters? Do you enjoy exploring themes of isolation, loss, and the nature of personhood? Vampire Year is the game for you!

This free preview covers the first three months of the titular year and introduces you to the core cast, including:

Lady Crimson, the quiet sister

Elena, the outgoing sister

James, their long-suffering parental figure and grieving widower

Maycair, the hedonistic problem child

Jaunty, a cat

Currently there are three playbooks: 

The Blood, a mortal descendant of the Old Master.

The Casualty, whose family became the Old Master's victims. 

The Explorer, an adventurous sort who wants to see the world and meet incredible people.

The Tower in the Meadow is a solo journaling game built on @hmooncreates's For Truth's Sake system.

Ten days ago, a tower appeared in a meadow outside of town. This tower is home to magical beings of all kinds. The tower's wizard has invited you to spend a few months in the tower, in exchange for an honest account of your time there to de-mystify the magical structure in the eyes of the outside world.

Real talk: I was pleasantly surprised by how much thought went into everything and I'm really curious to see how a game would play out, because mechanically, it seems very polished and interconnected

The kink community also has once again proven it is the most thoughtful group of people out there

Reuploading some projects now.

When Storm Rats v.2 is finished, it'll go up there. Just need to finish up some layout and art for it. I'm very excited about it, it's much more of a complete game than v.1 was. I might even set it up as a Print on demand.

This game is a different kind of power fantasy: one where we can save the world with kindness and understanding. Take on the roles of witches leaving their village for the first time to help people, spirits and places in ways big and small.

Much like these witches, Seasons of Magic has a long way to go! For now the core rules are available as a free playtest at the link below. I hope you enjoy making some witches and having adventures!

It's Kiwi RPG Week! While ideally you'll hear about kiwi ttrpg content year round, this is the week where we really focus on sharing the cool stuff made by our community- from standalone games, to supplements, to actual plays.

Nowhere Home nā Sam Robson

(He Pākehā ia.)

Built on the diceless Belonging Outside Belonging system, Nowhere Home sees players take on the roles of monsters shunned by human society. The premade playsets cover several different settings and 'monsters': play illegal mages in a dark fantasy setting, movie monsters in the modern day, or alien experiments loose in deep space!

I know it's not quite 200-word RPG season, but I was feeling inspired! Check out my free game Doomed Destinies: a play-to-lose game about the time the superheroes lose.
