Wait I thought actors go to the screenings sometimes, at least from what I’ve read
Hi dear,
Maybe occasionally if they're involved in the production of the film. But I don't think it's the norm to have actors there for test screenings. They don't usually have input in the editing of the final cut of the movie. That's the director, studios, and producers.
Any film industry people who have details please feel free to chip in and correct me if I'm wrong.

An early version of SONIC THE HEDGEHOG is being shown for some select people in order for people give their opinion and feedback.
Jeff Snedier gives his opinion about the Sonic Movie
Jeff Sneider, from Collider, had the following to say about the movie:
“Maybe this is coming from someone is too close to the prodution, but I’ve heard good things about Sonic the Hedgehog. That [movie] could surprise some people.”
Just to clarify some things: Yes, there were 2 test screenings for Deadpool 2 and No, There was NO rejection. Both screenings achieved 90% of acceptance, however, there is a quite heavy / dirty scene (that I'm not allowed to say which), but that's literally just it, nothing else happened.
Since you guys have been talking about test screenings and know-it-all Paul is full of shit as usual, here’s an interesting info on it. There are more of it in the thread but this is from a director.
This is a really awesome thread not just because it makes Paul look even more like an extremist idiot, but because it gives more insight into the process. That’s pretty cool!
Hii Daisy! Do you think there's any chance that DWD gets shelved or at the very least direct to stream after all these screenings? I've never heard of a movie with so many, that can't be a good sign.
On the other hand I'm worries what would happen if it does cause I know for a fact OW is not gonna take responsibility for it ans will blame society for not helping female directors like the fake feminist she is 🙄
Hi dear,
I don't think we have enough information to claim this might get shelved. If we start getting official news of the release being pushed, and the release is changed to streaming, then keeps getting pushed etc, then yes - that could be an indication. But so far no. At worst it would go to streaming if the studio really felt like the movie was an utter fail. But so far it seems like they think it isn't and it'll still do reasonably ok in theaters before it goes to streaming. So it's getting a wide release.
And I disagree about the screening thing. I feel like fandom suddenly became an expert in test screenings and the movie production process without having much knowledge of it.
This Jan 2022 article says that the average number of screenings is 3. But some movies can have 10-15 screenings:
This article from 2006 says that most studios do 3-5 screenings, with some movies having up to 19 test screenings:
I think it depends on a lot, tho ofc a high number suggests major edits/changes, or the need to test a specific thing - which can suggest issues with the movie itself.
But yeah, if this movie doesn't do well, she will absolutely blame misogyny, the pandemic, lack of resources, anything but herself.

We have some news updates, and there's a whole lot of doom and gloom out there at the moment! But we have some (we hope) reasonable and rational responses to the b*tch-fits and sh*t-scoopers...Here's what we're talking about:
CREATURE COMMANDOS
"Creature Commandos" Renewed for Season 2
Why a Weekly Release Schedule?
Will Any Episode of "Creature Commandos" Have a Post-Credit Sequence?
SUPERMAN
Those "Superman" Screenings
That Damn Can
That Damn Budget is NOT 360 Million
Is It Ultraman or Midnighter?
BATMAN: THE BRAVE AND THE BOLD
"The Batman: The Brave and The Bold" Project Status
THE BATMAN PART II
"The Batman Part II" Delayed Until October 2027
James Gunn Explains Reason for "The Batman 2" Release Date Delay
Like you say, the point of a test screening is to test peoples responses to the film, having Harry there would make them biased so it wouldn’t make sense
