This is my first attempt at fanfiction.
My favorite superhero is Tercona. She is the star of 3 books written by Frank James Bailey.
My story takes place at the end of Book 3 when everyone is at the Homecoming Dance. Since we don’t know what happened with all the characters while they were at the dance here is what I think happened.
** This doesn’t involve Tercona being a hero. I focus on the relationship between my new favorite ship - Britney and Tiffany. Enjoy! **
The First Kiss – A Tercona Story
The Homecoming Dance at Bayville Heights High School was the first dance of the school year. The football players had won the fourth game of the season and the atmosphere was full of excitement.
Paige talked to Bryan in the far end of the room. She had come to the dance with a boy named Blaine but she soon found out that she was just being used to make Samantha (Blaine’s girlfriend) jealous. So Paige needed comforting and an ear to listen to her.
Britney was about to leave the dance and go home when Tiffany asked her to stay and have fun.
As the night went on, Paige, Bryan, Britney and Tiffany all had fun and danced throughout the evening.
When it came time for the first slow dance of the night, Bryan asked Paige to dance but they didn’t get as close to each other as Bryan would have liked.
Other couples of the school did get close. Samantha and Blaine, Stone (the most popular football player of the school) and his date Heather and many more.
To Britney’s surprise Tiffany took her hand and dragged her to the dance floor.
Britney’s eyes about popped out of her head, “What are you doing?”
“We’re going to dance, duh!”
The whole school knew how much a tough girl Britney was but she didn’t pull back or stop Tiffany in any way from dragging her to the dance floor because she had a big lesbian crush on Tiffany ever since she was on the cheer leading team. Britney claimed she left cheer leading because she couldn’t work with Samantha anymore but after a while, Tiffany thought there might have been another reason.
Britney didn’t stop Tiffany because in heart she wanted to dance with her but dancing as a girl / girl couple out in the open made her nervous.
As they reached the edge of the dance floor Tiffany wrapped her arms around Britney’s shoulders and looked into Britney’s eyes as they swayed to the slow music.
Britney kept looking around and wondering if anyone was looking at them.
Tiffany wondered, “Is something wrong?”
“People are…I mean, they’re looking at us.”
As the moments ticked by Tiffany could tell her dance partner didn’t feel comfortable dancing. She stopped in mid-dance and asked, “Is it me?”
Britney smiled and looked at her for a moment, “No, not at all.”
Their bodies started to sway to the music again. Tiffany had an idea. “Britney, close your eyes.”
Britney took a deep breath and did what she asked. She closed her eyes as they danced.
“Now open them and look at me.”
When Britney opened her eyes she smiled a big bright smile from ear to ear and blushed because in front of her eyes was the most beautiful blonde girl in the school.
“See, just look at me and enjoy the dance.”
Britney did just that. She smiled as she thought of all the reasons why she liked Tiffany so much. Her hair, her smile, her perfume, her charming personality. All of these things made Britney happier and happier until…
Tiffany’s lips got closer Britney’s face.
Britney panicked and walked away fast.
Tiffany said loudly as she followed her, “Britney, what did I do?”
Paige saw them run off and asked Bryan, “Should we go after Britney to see if she’s okay?”
“No, they’ll be fine. It’s a girl thing.”
Of course, Bryan was sort of thinking about himself. He didn’t want to stop dancing with his crush, Paige. On the other hand, he was the only one who knew about Britney’s secret so he turned in their direction but both Britney and Tiffany were already gone. He turned his attention back to Paige and thought, ‘Britney’s a strong girl. She can handle it herself. I’ll check on her after this dance.’
As Britney walked outside of the school building and close to the parking lot Tiffany yelled, “Britney, wait.”
Britney slowed down and then stopped.
Tiffany was testy, “I don’t understand you. Are you still mad at me for turning away when you tried to kiss me a year ago?”
“No, that has nothing to do with it.”
Britney paused then confessed, “Nobody knows.”
Britney took a deep breath and said the words that she has always had a hard time saying from front of her friends. “That I’m gay.”
Britney looked down and felt ashamed, “I know I’m the tough girl. I’ve saved Tercona’s butt a few…”
“Whoa…you save a superhero?”
“Oh yea, sorry. Continue.”
“Anyway, being the strong protective girl is easy for me. I see kids making fun of Bryan for being a lovable nerd. I’ve seen Stone trip him and other kids in the halls for no reason. I protect him when I can because he’s my best friend. I despise bullies!”
Britney started to feel tears swell up in her eyes, “But I just don’t know if I can take being made fun for being - ”
Tiffany stopped her by raising Britney’s head up. They were now face to face. Tiffany smiled and said, “You’re the toughest and most loyal girl I know, strong willed and very brave. When you tried to kiss me a year ago - that took courage to put your self out there like that because I had no idea you were gay. I didn’t know what to think. At the time I was thinking, ‘Hold up, I’m not gay. What’s she doing?’ Then as time went on I saw you in the halls with Paige, Bryan and Maya. You seem so happy with your friends. I remembered how happy we were together when we were cheer leading. Is Samantha really the reason you quite?”
Britney growled, “I honestly and truly can’t stand the girl.”
Tiffany cocked her head to the side and shot her a look.
“Seriously! She’s rotten and...”
Britney finally confessed, “Fine! After I tried to kiss you I was embarrassed that you rejected me. I didn’t want the whole school to found out my secret, so I quite cheer leading hoping it would all just go away.”
“Don’t you still love cheer leading?”
The both of them were quite for just a moment until Tiffany had a confession on her own, “You know, after you tried to kiss me it took me a long time but I soon realized the only thing that truly matters in life are the people you care about the most. I am so sorry I hurt you before. Gay, bi, straight - it doesn’t matter. No matter how you label it - love is love.”
Britney couldn’t hold her emotions back any more. At last she shed the tears that were welling in her eyes and tried to smile.
Tiffany took her hand and brushed her friends face, “Come on now, don’t cry.”
Tiffany gently held Britney’s hand and inched closer to her friend, “What does your heart tell you?”
Britney turned to look at her friend. Her heart slowly began to race as she leaned closer but hesitated. As strong as she was she couldn’t take another heartbreak again. Her tough exterior finally shed as took a chance and went in for a kiss. She closed her eyes as Tiffany closed her eyes too. They leaned closer and closer to each other and let nature take its course as the two of them embraced in their first passionate kiss together under the starts of a clear evening sky.
At that moment, Britney felt a tsunami of happiness flood her entire body. It was as if the weight of the world was finally lifted off of her shoulders. Tiffany’s lips felt like the gentle soft touch of a rose petal. Then, from somewhere down below, she felt her heart race. This was a moment she had waited for and dreamed about for so long.
When the kiss was over there foreheads acted as a leaning point as they looked into each other’s eyes and smiled.
Britney couldn’t help to be true to herself and make a comment, “That was so much better than last time.”
They both shared a laugh.
