My Hero Academia: Cherry Blossoms
Light Novel Vol.6 - Springs buds
Fanmade Light Novel Chapter 1:đžSpring Budsđž
As January comes to a close, springs warmth grew near, beckoning spring to come. Images of cherry blossoms, chocolates, and other things lovely filled the minds of Yuuei students as they made their way to school, a gay ambience leading them forward. With beaming eyes and wishful thinking, these embellished thoughts began to bear fruits in young student minds. "How many confessions do ya think Todoroki is going to get?" Bellowed a Mina Ashido. Mina is known as the class 1 A's hopeless romantic, always taking the chance to sniff out the slightest morcile of love that her peers let slip out; not a single student had been spared from her. Surprisingly enough, Mina wasn't interested in pursuing romantic realations.
"Itâs hard to say really. Todoroki has always been popular with everyone, hasnât he? The love for him isnât even limited to this school... It depends on if they'd actually confess for it to count, wouldnât it? Ribbit." Replied Tsuyu Asui, a classmate of Ashidoâs, whos level-headed response had not satisfied her in the least.
"Well, yeah! But they might give him notes and chocolates and all kinds of cute things like that in his getabako!" Mina proclaimed, waving her arms about in excitement from the thought.
"And don't even get me started on you, Momoyao!" Mina exclaimed, focusing her attention to her dear friend Momo Yaoyorozu whom looked surprised by her sudden inclusion. "Me?" Her questioning tone made all the girls smile. Despite her numerous achievement and her personable character, she was humble and not always keen to notice the good things about herself. "Please girl! You've got more fans than all of us girls combined!" Kyoka Jirou suddenly chimed in, pausing her music to join in after being drawn by a favorite topic of hers. They all agreed. "Well, that's because of my hero work, isn't it?" Momo humbly questioned. She'd taken her work studies with Kendo from Class B, having the duo debuting on tv which gained a social audience and traction of their own beauty. Her hero skills and wits were a great bonus for such a beautiful young woman.
But the other girls were not having it. "Oh, cut that out! Yes, you're a good hero and all but we aren't talking about that!" Fumed Toru Hagakure, Mina's partner in crime of all-things-romantic. "I'm afraid I don't know what you mean?"Momo confusedly murmured. "That right there! That obliviousness to your own qualities! It's super cute!" "I don't understand?" "GAHHH! Ochacko, you tell her how adorable she is!" Mina said, growing cross of her dear friends modest, yet kind, replies; The dear girl known as Ochacko Uraraka had her mind on other matters however. Her gaze followed the leaves that were tossed about in the breeze. "Ochacko?" "WAHH!" The girl jumped in suprise as Asui tapped her shoulder. "Is everything alright?" She asked, her tone changing to one heavy with concern. "Oh, no. I'm alright, really! I was just thinking." She replied, her face growing slightly flushed. A sudden grin appeared upon Mina. "Ahhh~ I see..." She beamed, walking slowly ahead, peering back at her friend as she stepped ahead of her. "What do you mean by that?" Uraraka questioned curiously. "She's very persistent now, isn't she?" Momo, who was relived to lift the attention from herself, had observed.
"It's worse than usual, ribbit." The two watched as to see what Mina was going on about. "You've grown a bit quite is all." Mina began to test the waters. "Isn't a bit of silence nice now and then?" Uraraka said unshaken. "I suppose, yes. But this is a bit different, no?" "From what I understand of it, not really." Stealing another glance at her, Mina thought for a moment on what to say next.
"So, it has nothing to do with Midoriya, does it?"
There it was, her truest intentions. She threw it on the table like it was nothing. Uraraka pinched her skin for a second, shaken for just a moment while catching her stumble. "Ah, well. We think of our peers from time to time, now don't we? It isn't uncommon." It wasn't a good defense at all, but a confession she didn't verbally state.
"So it is?" Mina hums in a singing tune. "It seems so." Watching the back & forth was torture.
"Well, I for one think of our class all the time! If we're to make it to class in time which, if you haven't noticed, we should be getting to soon." Momo spoke, deterring the focus from Uraraka. She had a slight tinge of guilt from focusing their prying to her instead. "Yes, we should be hurrying now." Asui agreed. "We're nearly there, it's fine?" Toru added.
Hagakure caught on and was by no means ready to let it go. "Pushing won't bestow anything good." Asui stated, just like she had before but the pair didn't care too much as they had once in the past. "I bet Midoriya will get quite a bit of cards, don't you?" Mina asked openly. Uraraka smiled at the image of Izuku blushing profusely. "I'd hope so, he's very kind." she said aloud.
Uraraka wasn't one to get jealous, or rather, she didn't want to be. She'd thought she'd been jealous a bit before, but now she's grown rather confused of how she feels of him. Pushing her emotions down was her try. "Aww, come on Ochacko! He might like you back!" Mina whined, slumping on Urarakas shoulder as support. "It's not that simple, I'm not sure if it's even /that/ kind of like, you know?"
Mina stopped her playful teasing as she looked at her friends face. She was being serious, and Mina would never want to toy with her friends emotions like that. Catching up, Uraraka fiddled around with her hands. "It's not that I don't like him." she started. "Mhm?" "There is just this one thing..." Uraraka picked a small ball of lint from her sleeve before leaning in closer "What is it?" Mina asked as she patiently awaited her answer. Uraraka leaned over to whisper the words into Mina's ear, looking at Asui for a moment before looking around aimlessly. Mina looked at Uraraka with a sparkle in her eyes that said more than any words could. "What is it?" "Ribbit?" Asui wondered.
The other girls attentively listened as Mina began to squeal "That's my girl!" and swung her about with great earnest. Uraraka's laughs were so happy and genuine that no confirmation was needed. "Let's get to class, shall we?" She breathed, all the air escaping her. "We shall!" They cheered. Making their way into their class's doorway, a pair of large googly-like eyes squinted. "Can you believe it?" Groaned Mineta, Class-Aâs renound pervert, as he watched the girls come through the classroom doorway. "Look at them, laughing and talking like that! It's spring time! They should have shorter skirts..Women..." he grumbled. "Seriously man, this is why girls don't like you..."
The class talked amongst one another in small groups as they began the day. Bakugou and Kirishima greeted Jirou and Mina as they made their way to their on seats.
"It was absolutely dreadful. The amount of mold scared Dark Shadow." Tokoyami was explaining his spring cleaning sessions at home. A small group listened earnestly to their dear friend. "Really? How awful! I'm glad that you could clean it as soon as possible! Health is of great importance, as you must know and as heroes in training, we must do our best to set good examples!" Iida, as enthusiastic as ever, bellowed proudly at his classmates achievements.
Izuku Midoriya, Mezou Shoji and Yuuga Aoyama were too deep in this conversation of winter cleaning back at home." I'm glad you could get so much done. With all of my posters and figurines here in the dorms, I didn't have all that much to do at home so Iâm greateful for that.â
"Hello, Midoriya. Hello, Iida." Greeted Shoto flatly, his hand slightly raised to accommodate the gesture. Shoto Todoroki greeted his friends every morning in the same manner as they do to him. Almost anyway... Although a bit improper way of speaking, he was rather blunt but truthful when it comes to his speech. "Good morning, Todoroki!" Midoriya replied, a kind smile brightly greeting him. "Yes, Good morning Todoroki! What took you so long?" Iida questioned as Todoroki would often sleep later than most much to his amazement. Shrugging his shoulders, Todoroki shuffled to his seat in the back of the class.
"Everyone be seated now!" Iida boomed as the stragglers made their way into the class room. As if on que, in walked Aizawa. "Let's begin."
A few weeks had passed. The cherry blossoms were in full bloom as February came full swing. The light hues of pink, salmon and white littered the streets and sidewalks as people went about their days.
"It's nearly that time, isn't it?" Ida breathed. "What time?" Questioned Todoroki. He, Midoriya, and Iida walked together on their way to the supermarket to pick up a few things. "Why, Valentine's day of course!" Iida happily replied. "Oh." Todoroki's reply didn't sound completely understanding so Midoriya began to explain. "Valentine's day is a day to show your appreciate of someone precious. I'd make chocolates with my mother and give them to her and Mrs.Mitsuki. Kacchan isnât much a fan of sweets so he would never take any chocolates Iâd offer him. Heâd get tons of chocolates from our classmates though! " Midoriya chuckled at the memory of his childhood friends face when a peer gave him his homemade snaps.
"It's a very simple concept, though! I'm glad to have friends to share it!" Midoriya hadn't had friends in his younger days, nor had Todoroki so he could share the feeling well. Iida shared it just as strongly, though his younger days were friend filled and true, so he was happy to share his fond memories of such things. "I'd often write thank you letters to my teachers, tutors, bakers, peers, and otherwise to show them my gratitude for all their hard work!" Iida beamed, thinking of all the long hours he'd spent writing each and every person words of endearment. Todoroki nodded his head in agreement.
They've heard of similar stories during their parents visiting months before when their teacher had made one of his very questionable choices as a teacher when putting their parents in a cage. A rational deception, as he'd put it. "That sounds like our Iida.â Todoroki smiled. "I do wonder how this Valentine's day will turn out." Midoriya mumbled in deep thought. "Whatever do you mean?" Iida asked, concerned by his friends face. "Nothing by it! I just...Do you think I'd be a bother to anyone?" The two looked at each other with questioning glances.
"How could you ever be a bother?" They both genuinely asked, concerned for their friends worries. "I'm not sure how to do much. My chocolates are still far from edible and my writing isn't pretty by any means." From a small chuckle to a full blown belt of laughter, the two reassured their friend of his worries. "I never would have guessed! Is that really your worries, Midoriya?" Iida questioned. Midoriya nodded his head, suddenly embarrassed for saying anything at all.
"I'm sorry, I knew it was silly...""No, don't apologize! I'm sorry for laughing but, why not just ask for help?" Ida wondered, looking at his friends face twist and flush. Folding over a bit, Midoriya pulled at his fingers nervously. "Well I mean...I didn't want to waste your time or anything..." he spoke timidly.
"It wouldn't be a waste." Todoroki assured him, indecisively placing his palm on his friends shoulder. "You never could be!" Iida agreed. Completely bewildered by their encouragement, Izuku couldn't help but blush profusely with a simple. "Oh." His smile wavered for a moment before he began to laugh with them, a scene similar to one they'd shared after their fight with stain.
"We can ask Sato for help, surely." Iida offered. "We couldn't, could we?" Midoriya questioned, still a bit unsure of it all. "Mhm. We'll help you make chocolates and letters, isn't that right, Todoroki?" "I don't mind." Todoroki replied, shrugging his shoulders like he had nothing better to do with his time. Todoroki, however, was quite thrilled to do such things. Though no one may have noticed it, a small smile crept on his lips. "Ahh, alright then, could we tonight? Well, er...if you guys aren't busy right now or anything."
"We were meant to study together so let's count this as another great learning experience." Iida proposed, Todoroki agreeing full heartedly. Relief set over him like a heavy quilt as a few tears rolled down his freckles cheeks. "It's a date!" Izuku sighed, wiping his cheeks dry with his hoods sleeve, shook his face, and made his way inside the shop with his two companions.
