The Doctor blinked his eyes, confusion swirling around as he stared as his partner. “Miss who?”

“Her. The person I was before all of this.”

“But she’s you.” The Doctor said, not quite understanding why they were saying all of this, why they were looking at him with such sad eyes that made his hearts ache and his mind go into a panic.

“She was human. I’m not.”

Their voice sounded so hollow, so empty.

“Im no longer her. I’m just a stranger to you”

The Doctor shook his head but there was something in his eyes that must have said differently because the tears that were on the edge of falling finally swooped down their cheeks and disappeared into their shirt.

“You fell in love with her and I’m not even sure if I can channel her. You fell in love with how reckless she was, how emotional she became with every adventure and issue that came her way. You loved her attitude and freedom. You loved her anger and jealously. And now she’s gone and you have me. And it kills me because I know that the only reason you have me here is because she’s in me. She came from me and yet there’s nothing in me that is human.”

“I use knowledge, my brain while she used her heart.”
