The loss of territory was something that was common in war. Attackers occupied, the invaded defend. It was simply how things worked. And at present, Hive City was definitely in the latter classification. It had only been a day and already had these alternatives laid claim to a good portion of Sector oo5, bringing death and ruin as they worked from the center out, like a plague. It was hard enough to protect the guild hall, and yet they knew they couldnât remain on the defensive if they wished to push them back.
That was where this plan had come from. A plan to take back the sector, that involved forming two combat teams. Theyâre opponents were strong, but at the very least, the militia were not. They could be deterred, as much as the thought of such a battle troubled Wendy.Â
A large group of soldiers moved through a city plaza. Twenty? Fifty? All armed with varying weaponry. They had faced little resistance, their morale was high, and had yet to waver. And yet, a child with hair of blue appeared behind them, shouting words that sounded like an incantation. âWhere had she come from?â thought the soldier in the back of the formation, and yet it was already too late.Â
As if from nowhere, the wind stirred in the middle of the formation, quickly expanding into a twister-like mass of wind.
âSKY DRAGONâS TORNADO!â It wasnât at full power, she hadnât activated Dragon Force. Had the been the case, she surely could have taken the block along with the soldiers, but that wasnât the point. Wendy didnât want to kill them. The point of that move was to scatter them so that the others, who lay in wait, could pick them off. Some soldiers went flying into the rooftops, but for the most part they crashed around the plaza, destroying booths and cracking walls.Â
Those that had had the sense to hold on, turned their weapons on the girl. But that had been accounted for as well.
