December was here, which meant that it was getting colder by the day. Ranma acted like it didn't bother him too much, but it was just a cover to not seem desperate for warmth. Even the little things such as that could be considered as he's weak. He's so darn stubborn. ❝ It was smart to bundle up today. It's colder then they said it would be. ❞ Akane had more coverings then he did, but Ranma found his coat and scarf enough.
Anyone could see right though that tough facade, especially Akane. Ranma's exterior started to shiver, especially his lips. He did his best to cover his complaining in his scarf, but it seemed it wasn't enough. Akane put him to a stop. ❝ Hm? Shouldn't we keep moving? ❞ She silenced him as she moved in closer and zipped his jacket all the way up. There was a big gap which allowed the wind to reach his chest.
He felt his cheeks warm up, but hope he could blame the weather for why he started to appear flushed. ❝ Ahh... thanks. Guess I was in a real rush this morning. ❞ She smiled and continued to walk ahead. Somehow, even though the wind continued to freeze them both, Ranma felt his body start to slowly warm up.

watching akane train became an easy form of entertainment while she waits...but it was also a rare chance to observe her up close in action. still, shampoo can't manage to give a compliment without it being well, slightly underhanded. her bright red eyes narrow with mischief, an innocent smile growing across her pretty face before casually flipping some of her thick hair over her shoulder.

Everything was all packed. It wasn't unusual for Ranma to go on a trip with his father to build up his strength, but this time Ranma wanted to go on his own. He needed to put all the pressure on himself and have no help at all. Ranma didn't think it be a big deal, he leaves all the time. He just left a note behind for his father to pass around. Simple. Or so he thought.
At first he told himself he was imagining Akane's voice, but there was no denying it. ❝ Akane? ❞ He turns around to face her, she caught up to him rather quickly.
❝ Hey. I was just leaving. If you didn't know I'm going on a trip. We're on break from school so it's perfect... no big deal, I'll be back soon. ❞ Ranma thought it would end right there, but Akane was quick to respond. 'you were going to leave without saying goodbye?' Now why did she have to go and say that? Ranma's heart suddenly felt heavy. He hated it.
❝ It's no a big deal! I'm not going away forever! I just think it's best if I go alone.❞ Truth? He wouldn't mind if she came. But he was sure Akane would be worried about him, and theres a good chance they might bicker the whole time. ❝ I'll be back soon okay? Sorry I... didn't say goodbye. ❞

Seeing the genuine compassion this child had for her pig companion made Chopper's smile soften, his eyes quivering a bit with admiration for the situation this pig was in. If only Chopper could have run into someone like this instead of the hostile villagers of his home, his childhood might have been far simpler. Of course, thoughts of what could be were tossed aside quickly once the image of his crew crossed his mind. He was more grateful for how things turned out than he was curious of alternatives.
"You're welcome! I'm sure it's nothing. He just fell on it wrong when he was running away from some crazy girl with a hammer. No idea what her deal was but I got him out of there!" Alluding briefly to a certain ice-skating weirdo, Chopper chuckled sheepishly, rubbing the back of his head. It was difficult to ignore the blue-haired girl's slow realization that the one she spoke to was indeed not human. The doctor only hoped Akane was as kind as he'd been told by the pig.
"Don't worry! You don't owe me anything. This pig told me enough about your situation. I'd hate to add any more stress to your life. Akane, right? You can call me Chopper." In trying to distract from whatever oddities of his Akane was fixated on by introducing himself properly, Chopper thoughtlessly revealed an ability that was not only unique, but incredibly useful for the pig he handed off to the girl. His ability to speak to and understand animals. With his small hoof extended to greet Akane's hand, the pirate smiled a bit wider, closing his eyes to show he was at ease. "I didn't get a lot out of P-chan, but he was grumbling about needing to get to you, his hurt leg, and something about Ranma. If you're a friend of Ranma's, consider my medical help to be free of charge whenever you're in need of it."
