okay so. was watching captain sparklez vod last night and he saw a LOT of the corruption.
and i really don’t think that this is the same type of corruption from the realm. i mean we figured it was at least slightly different based on the name (specifically the “pale” corruption vs just The Corruption) but getting a much clearer look at it really confirms that it’s for sure different from the realm.
like, look firstly at the way it spreads. (flight on right, realm on left) not only does it have a lot more amethyst clusters than crying obsidian (likely why it’s called the “pale” corruption given that’s a paler purple) but it also spreads in a much more patchy and natural way than the aggressive spreads of the realm corruption
we also saw this on lukey’s stream. you can see the patchiness of it as well as how it’s mostly made up of amethyst clusters, and even when we do spot some crying obsidian it’s a few sparse blocks.
the “obelisks” or like, larger spike forms are different (flight on right, realm on left although mango pointed out to me that they look really similar to the ones ros had built in the end previously)
so i’m really excited to see how this corruption functions differently than the previous corruption we’re familiar with!!!! i’m wondering if it’s an evolution of the previous one like how bacteria evolves to survive new climates, or if it’s a completely different “strain” like how we have strains of the sculk. either way i doubt lukey’s previous cure formula will work here if he ends up needing it given it’s a different corruption…
