Star Wars OC Jei Kai for @temiel! Thanks for hiring me!
Heyyyy you know who hasn't uploaded anything in about a million years? (It's me) ANYWAY this is my current little guy. My bestest boy, my sweet cheese. my rotten soldier His name's Kestrel and he's a sorcerer and he's Very Chronically Ill and could probably drop dead at any minute. This is his casual at-home outfit. When he's out in the world he bundles up a LOT more and basically looks like a red fabric burrito that his boyfriend Rowan has to carry around. Anyway I love him Your Honor

Iāve NEVER successfully finished a month of Inktobers (I got close one year, but didnāt make it). Even trying is an awesome effort :3 Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā
Thank you, lovely lady! Even if you werenāt officially doing it this year, I still loved the OC drawings you did this year. Youāre detail-work never fails to make me happy : )
Yissss. Cadmus: Co-habitate, Decor, Kin, Wardrobe. Caro: Grudge, Question, Reminder.
YAY! The Carpe Noctem kids!
For Cadmus:Ā
Co-Habitate : Do they live with anyone? Whatās āneed to knowā before moving in?
Cadmus is a rebellious 500-something year old and needs his space. He wanders, but always has his motherās secret mountainside sanctuary to return to if he needs to. Something to keep in mind before living with him would be..heās a vampire and might be actively fighting the compulsion to eat your flesh and drink your blood???
Decor :Ā What kind of home do they keep? Are there any defining details?Ā
If heās not sleeping in trees in crow form, heās usually renting small, dark spaces in bad neighborhoods. He doesnāt need much light, but will insist the space is tidy, the opposite of his motherās villa, which is spacious and yet cluttered with artifacts from long dead civilizations.
Kin : Whatās their role among their relations? Do they consider others family?
Heās the baby of the family (technically all Vampires are āfamilyā and therefore heās tangled in a web of aunts and uncles and cousins), the youngest vampire to be born in centuries. While he is often trapped into being a dutiful son for his mother by virtue of the fact he is her only child (and that means something, because sheās 25,000 years old), he silently disagrees with her on pretty much all accounts, is headstrong and stubborn, and the elders mostly look at him with a mixture of affection and tired wistfulness, assuming his attitudes are all a phase he will age out of in a few centuries time. The family he finds...thatās Caro and Liam.
Wardrobe : Whatās their fashion style? Do they have any staple pieces?
Always wears a greatcloak for dramatic effect, and also to look broader because he is a walking stick-figure. Heās actually not very fashionable because he doesnāt really shop for things do much as find them. So all his clothes are about a decade past fashionable.
For Caro:
Grudge : How bad does an insult go over? Do they hold a grudge long?
Caro burns hot and quick, so if she gets indignant over something, sheās usually righteously furious for a moment, and then lets it go quickly. So she doesnt hold much of a grudge, but sheāll always REMEMBER.
Question : How often do they feel doubt? What topics are they defensive about?
Caro is only certain about one thing, and thatās how a mechanism will work. She drew the blueprints, she made it with her own hands, she tested it: it works. Of course it does! But... Everything else fills her with trepidation. She expends a lot of effort trying not to look as nervous and uncertain as she feels all the time. But donāt question her know-how when it comes to anything mechanical, or politics. Donāt assume that because she is small and female that she simplyĀ ādoesnt knowā what sheās talking about. Sheās had to put up with that for her uncle her entire life, and the quickest way to set her off is to second guess her.
Reminder : How are they at remembering daily needs? What falls through the cracks?
If sheās working on a project, she may be too distracted to brush her hair, or notice that sheās had a grease smudge on her cheek for an entire afternoon, but she always remembers to have a tea break. She gets very absorbed in her own thoughts sometimes, and may forget things like...a party where she is expected to appear and be a dull, silent ornament for her uncle guests.Ā

Either Cadmus OR Caro for 2, 4, 13, 24?
2. What would be your OCs favourite section in a bookstore? Why?
Caro would love the section with the over-sized coffee-table books; educational text-heavy picture books about firearms through the ages, beautiful clocks and mythology anthologies. She would also enjoy reading biographies about influential women throughout history, and science fiction novels (though the sci-fi novels would be something of a guilty pleasure for her).
4.Ā How would your OC like/prefer to die?Ā
There was a time when Caro would have said āAs an old spinster, by the fire, with a book and my lap and a cup of tea still warm beside meā. But as her adventure speeds along, Caro realizes her death may be closer at hand than she first imagined, and she wants to die as spitefully as possible, making a great nuisance of herself to the person trying to kill her. She wants them to be really inconvenienced by her murder.
13.What would your OC choose to do in the Trolley Problem? TheTransplant Problem?
The Trolley Problem: Caro would first insist that she could devise a way to stop the trolley without switching the track or causing it to hit the people tied to it. After being told that she isnāt allowed to do that in this scenario, Caro would continue to ask questions such as: Do I know any of the people tied to the track? Are they kindly or villainous people? When told none of that matters to the problem, a frustrated Caro would frown and reluctantly state that she would pull the lever because then at least five people would be spared a grisly fate, even if the last couldnāt be.Ā
The Transplant problem: Itās a doctorās job to help people, not murder them, and Caro would be very staunch upon the nature of the Hippocratic Oath and how the doctor would be morally culpable. The person who pulls the lever in the Trolley Problem would not be a murderer, Caro would argue, because the trolley is the murderer. But the doctor would have to choose to go against his oath and murder the tourist and would therefore be a villain if he chose to do it.Ā
24. If your OC could permanently remove any one thing from their world, what would it be? Why?
She would remove the moment her mother was killed.
Answering questions from here.
Hey. Why not. >_>
temiel! \o/Ā
1. First impression: Look at this amazing art. She is so good. SHEāS TOO GOOD FOR ME.
2. Truth is: Youāre one of the internet friends Iāve had the longest and thatās because youāre warm and enthusiastic and invite other people into your gravitational pull of awesome. An Art Elitist you are not.
3. How old do you look: Like an adult.
4. Have you ever made me laugh: Yes. And cry. But mostly the crying was over your TRAGIC OCs. Are Leland and Claris OKAY!? D:
5. Have you ever made me mad: Yeah, mad-jealous over your line work and clothing-drawing skills. Iāll make you proud one day!6. Best feature:Ā The most recent photo I saw of you was taken right after your got your Furiosa hair cut. So, what is fresh in my mind is that your skull is perfectly suited for the Furiosa head-shave. Drive your war-rig into my heart.
7. Have I ever had a crush on you: Strictly Platonic Internet Crushes are my M.O.
8. Youāre my: Tem. My art-friend. The one who always seems to know exactly what Iām going through when I have panics and frustrations about illustration.
9. Name in my phone: Donāt speak.
10. Should you post this too? If youāre feelinā it.
Those questions from @temiel
FFFF! I took forever on these, and Iām sorry temiel. Finally updated the last questions and posting! Thank you for tagging me! ^_^
1. What is your personal style like?
Iām mostly a t-shrt and jeans girl, but slowly adding more to my wardrobe. I like shirts that are off shoulder and slightly oversized. Iām getting a little more creative with my afro, and my favorite style is to have a puff with bangs. Sometimes I have a bow other times not.
2. Do you believe in ghosts?
I believe in the possibility of ghosts. Ā If I believe in them I would have to acknowledge it making me a not so happy Tam. If I just think thereās a possibility I can rationalize the hell out of it as I run away. This is why I donāt fuck with haunted things.
3. Favorite animated movie?
Aaaah so many to choose from! But will just with Castle of Cagliostro. It was my second Lupin III movie, the first being Mystery of Mamo, but I really didnāt become a fangirl until I watched Cagliostro. The classic Miazaki imagery mixing with Monkey Punchās characters were the best.
4. What are three books that helped to shape you as a person?
Dominic by William Steig
I remember this story as being one of the few I took out of my class library and never returned. The story of the adventurous dog with a spear and piccolo inspired me to imagine and travel to meet new people and save them from evil.
Deed of Paksinarrion by Elizabeth Moon
Iām not to keen on paladins, but this story had a great female hero. I was impressed by her strength, though not happy with some of the sacrificial instances at the end. It got me to look at more warrior and tank classes for women.
Pretty much anything ElfQuest by Windy and Richard Pini. Different views on elves and really loved the Wolfriders. When they met the desert Elves it was the first time I got to see a dark skinned elf and really got hooked. Savah was my favorite character and for awhile I used her name for my online identity and even another old character that had a pretty full story line that Iāve slowly revived.
5. Cooking: like it or hate it? Whatās your favorite thing to cook for yourself?
I love to cook, but sometimes have to really make myself do it. If it takes more than 30 minutes Iāll get grumpy.
6. One song youāre really into right now (please link if possible!)?
I was first into Fallulahās Give us a Little Love because it pinpointed a character I was working on for a school project. https://youtu.be/Rt6hIh2wuJ0
But then the #Beyoncealwaysonbeat came about and the remix of Fun.ās We Are Young by DJSMALLZ hit me and Iāve been stuck. https://youtu.be/5faPaUdfIDQ
And because Iām so late and another song made it to my constant rotation: Hollaback Yonce mash up of Gwen Stafaniās Hollaback Girl and Beyonceās Yonce. Best use of back beat, ever. https://youtu.be/aVP9GINQcMY
7. Favorite mythological motif/character/story? (I say āmythologyā but can also apply to folk and fairy tales)
Oh I havenāt really thought of that. Lol Um right now Iām into the 1001 Nights tales because itās a part of a project. I do like the stories, though they are difficult to understand from the structure. Iām still trying to get through the first book, and have two more to go. I hope to have a better understanding of them soon and get some favorites out of it.
8. If you lived in the His Dark Materials universe, what form would your dƦmonhave?
Gryphon
9. Biggest art-related pet peeve (whether making it or looking at it or consuming it or however it is you relate to any kind of art)?
That I donāt understand it at first. I feel like Iām really slow with understanding art, so I just take my time. Also, this goes with writing, losing flow. I will flop around for a long time before sitting my ass down and completing it, and when I do its not as bad as I thought it would be. And I get pissed about that.Ā
10. Least favorite fiction trope?
There are many, and I agree with amyclarkart with the relationship for whatever sake trope, but right now my biggest are Magical Negro, Sapphire, Strong Black Woman, and a few other racial tropes. Trying to find characters that only have a bit of this trope mixed in with other complexities is difficult, and its disappointing not having good characters to fan over. Ā So I made a personal challenge to try and find ways to work around them with my own writing and re-imagine characters to make them well rounded.
11. Scariest book and movie youāve ever read/watched AND enjoyed?
Oooh. Well Iām a lightweight when it comes to scary stuff, but my first Stephen King book that I read and loved was The Stand. Though it didnāt deal with the supernatural the thought of unknown virus wiping out nearly everyone and the survivors needing to deal with the human condition/thought scared the crap out of me.
Movies are rocky. Iāve watched things like Nightmare on Elm Street, Poltergeist, and Halloween and I ānever- returned. Then I try the more campy ones like Demon Night and Fright Night that would work on my nerves, but after I get over it I like them very much.
