I realized something today about telepaths in the X-Men movies: Jean Grey is only feared by characters in-universe for her Phoenix powers, but her telepathy is freely used and seen in a heroic light when used; whereas Charles Xavier’s telepathy is seen both to the audience and by characters in-universe as shameful and something that Charles needs to hide even from fellow mutants!

The double standard regarding the way others (especially Raven and Erik) treat Charles and his telepathy is astoundingly irritating!
