Sony Showcases the Watercolor Artwork of Candle: The Power of the Flame Days Before Release

Candle is the first game from Teku Studios, and in their debut adventure, you have to play as Teku as he tries to save his village after it’s attacked. He is armed with just a candle and has to use it alongside his own wits to solve a wide variety of puzzles in this watercolor-painted universe. The graphics have been completely hand-painted and look absolutely stunning.

Candle is an adventure with challenging puzzles. Play as Teku, a young novice on a dangerous journey to rescue his tribe’s shaman from the evil tribe of the Wakcha. But the way is littered with sinister traps and difficult obstacles. To master these challenges, you need to have keen eyes and a good sense for your environment, or your next step may be your last.

But Teku has a special gift: his left hand is a candle. Let it be a bright beacon to drive off your enemies or to shed light on dark places. Gorgeous hand-painted watercolor visuals give Candle that special flair, as all backgrounds and characters have been carefully drawn and then scanned, picture after picture. The game consistently feels like a living painting.

Developers Teku Studios clearly poured a lot of love and effort into Candle and it shows. From the breathtaking scenery and artwork to the terrific puzzle designs and unique worlds to discover and characters to interact with, Teku’s journey is easily one that deserves to have a light shone on it as well, as a showcase of a terrific platformer and adventure game.
