i think people at a base level DO NOT deserve to be harassed - it starts being deserved when someone/some organization starts very intentionally hurting others, especially vulnerable people, for their own gain. are there any circumstances where you think harassment IS justified, if this is not it? and, further, do you think it's impossible to support other things that combat scientology as well as laugh at the way people are harassing scientology buildings? or do you think those are somehow mutually exclusive?

except scientology is a for-profit cult. their buildings are not holy, and i do honestly think it's funny for horrible institutions like scientology to be harassed and ridiculed, specifically because of how much they hurt people and how intentional that hurting people is. condoning harassment of an institution like scientology is not comparable to condoning harassment of an ethnoreligious group
Case in point: they don’t fundamentally think harassing people is wrong, their assessment of whether it’s acceptable to harass people is based on who is subject to it. They think people have to deserve to not be harassed
This person does not care about the harm scientology does any more than our harassers care about colonialism, that’s only their justification for it’s being acceptable to harass them (the thing they do care about). If they cared about scientologists taking advantage of their membership, they would obviously be supporting doing something about that and not harassing people
scientology/scientologists do not need us defending them, like, at all.... i get your and anon's point but i do not think this is a good hill to stand on
Case in point: this anon thinks “it’s wrong/not funny to harass people” amounts to a “defense of Scientology” in exactly the same way people call it defending Israel or zionism or whatever when someone isn’t down with harassing us
