81: Boyz II Men: I’ll Make Love To You: I am pretty sure I have had sex while this played, it’s not really important but in a more cosmic sense it is the most important thing. I obviously LIKE this song, and I love the way the little guy really lets it all hang out there. Like he’s gonna make you feel a MILLION pleasures, and he doesn’t care if he feels a single one. It’s all for you girl! God I miss when girls used to sleep over at my house btw 82: Barenaked Ladies – One Week: Ahhhh these guys! I remember when their FIRST album came out and we as a NATION were inundated these chubby weird looking song smiths singing songs about Yoko Ono and Brian Wilson. I was glad to share the burden with the American brethren. I am not much for this SONG but I like Steven Page (singer not rapper) because he went HAM and got busted on a coke binge, and yo that is hilarious and awesome. So this gets a thumb up. Do drugs btw 83: EMF – Unbelievable: I say Unbelievable about a million times a day, which is weird because yo nothing extravagant helps in my life. I painted a wall at work yesterday, it was a nuthouse. Proper nutty. I think this song is maybe the most British thing I have heard all day. Like if it offered me a membership in the commonwealth and bad mouthed Gandhi I wouldn’t think ‘this IS Britain’ more than I do now. Fun song though, we’re partying btw 84: Madonna – Ray of Light: Don’t like this song, the video I am pretty sure made me forget a lot of my happy childhood memories with its flashing lights etc (either that or I have been this morose my whole life). I remember the summer this song came out and I was so young and ready for the world, and I knew my life was going to be amazing. So that’s what this song brings up. I don’t think it ever had a chance. Sad to DEATH btw 85: Techtronic – Move This: In 1992 I preformed a lip sync version of this song in front of my fellow classmates at the end of classes one day. It was rapturously received (as I remember it) it is when I realized I wanted to be a performer. This song ruined my life. That said I can never stop dancing I need to move this. I NEED to btw 86: Primitive Radio Gods - Standing outside a Broken Phone Booth: I knew this song was coming. I am not a fan of this British sing talking crap, but I will say this, the samples are awesome, because it sounds like a more angry man is like ‘YO sing it like you mean it man! Have some PRIDE, you too cool for school half asser. Get REAL. I do like the line ‘If I die before I learn to speak, can money pay for all the days I lived awake but half asleep?’ because look I am a sad sack and it’s ok but I am. This song is pretty bad but idk maybe you like being bored btw? 87: Gin Blossoms – Follow You Down: Was this the song from Empire Records? I remember liking this song because it has a really sweet side to it. The Gin Blossoms are really underrated for their ability to craft great pop rock. I say this as someone who winces at harmonica but jeez it even fits here! I am in a posi place about this one. This is good driving with a special woman music. A nice niche if you can get it btw 88: Inner Circle – Sweat: This is unabashed song about steady pumping on a gal. Or in. I always get that mixed up. I like this singer’s voice a lot, it is pretty smooth and you need that for such an overt vaginal copulation song. I guess if you like sex, this is your sort of song? I am as always terrified btw 89: Salt & Pepa - Whatta Man: This is the antithesis to songs like Bills Bills Bills and No Scrubs. The ladies of Salt & Pepa are ready to say ‘I am in a relationship that is based on love, respect, fun and also sex, lots of sex’ The video is notable for being another in a long line of sexual explanations to young Taylor. Oh that is what a bubble bath with a female looks like. I see. Ok, cool. I am glad and excited to see this in the real world.’ Still waiting btw 90: Marky Mark – Good Vibrations: These last songs must be the Sexploitation part of the collection. Marky Mark at the time was notable for a guy who got a record deal because his bro was in New Kids in the Block. He and his brothers are now respected in the film community. This song . . . uh. . . . well you know what? I bet if I was from Boston and of the proper age, I would have gotten so much action to this song. Alas it’s not to be. I wonder if his cover of Walk on the Wildside is on this? I hope so btw
