"The original Egyptian pedestal included the statues of sixteen fully sexed baboons and was deemed too obscene for public exhibition." Re: The Luxor Obelisk is a 23 metre-high Egyptian obelisk at the center of Place de la Concorde in Paris, France. It was originally located at the entrance to Luxor Temple, in Egypt. #gaycation #technomad #gayparis #egyptianart #monkeygenitals #colonialproblems #gaymiddleage (at Promenade du Cours La Reine)

Getting started is EXPENSIVE.
Uuugh. Getting the car checked up and have to shell out $200 for front breaks. Still, those are kind of important for pulling a trailer. Spent $850 on the popup itself. $65/mo for a storage unit for the stuff we're not ready to straight-up donate. Also, parents kindly paid $400 to get a hitch put on the car. And then we're going to have to pay more to get the pop-up checked out/a cable problem fixed. Just, living remotely should cut down on costs over time? Like, we'll be paying storage rent, which is much cheaper than apartment rent. And we don't have to pay internet/water/electric. Because we run our own battery (camper has 12V battery and a 110V hookup for campsites), wash at the gym/campsite, and use libraries/coffee shops for internet. But it's still so expensive RIGHT NOW that it's making my wallet hurt. --- Allie

How I got inspired by this young hacker 'EV' and learned later on that I'm doing his dream job by reading his blog one month later. He was this young guy who came to New York to buy a bike and ride it across America but the bike got stolen the next day and now he sleeps on subways, so we met in a co-working space talking about Ebola, Hamas, Humanitarian Aid and meaning of life with couple of people.
Seems I'm not that far fetched in my path, I mean from where I started and where I am now, no clue really where I'm going. However today I have read something from another young hacker I met in New York, actually he joined out kitchen session in the Wix Lounge talking about digital humanitarians, and I remember him quite clearly, since he was curious about my work with many questions, and it took another month for me to realise I kinda do what he would love to be doing. It's interesting to see that you can inspire people who are themselves inspiring others and me as well. So I found his blogpost today from October about the kitchen meeting we had, couple people, hackers, nerds, coffee addicts in downtown Manhattan: "I Unintentionally Got A Job I love Wix Lounge. There’s just so many interesting people there. You might just enter a conversation with a war photographer explaining how he got kidnapped by Hamas and end the conversation with a job at a startup across town. That’s what happened today. So I woke up Monday on at the last stop on the “N” train at 1pm. I thought to myself, damn, it’s late. By the time I get to the coworking space (Wix Lounge) it will only be open for a couple hours and I’m sure it’s absolutely packed. But hey, they’ve got free coffee there, I can make myself some instant oatmeal, and the water just tastes better there than at the library. So why not go? " Read further on EV blog....
