Wayward is the 2nd book in the Wayward Pines trilogy by Blake Crouch. “Ethan Burke is now sheriff in Wayward Pines. A town where none of the residents know how they got there. They are told where to work and how to live. The town is surrounded by an electrified fence and the residents are under constant surveillance. Many want to leave, but there’s a terrifying surprise beyond the fence…” This book moves quickly and might be better because you know what’s going on in WP. Crouch does a great job with pace and keeping the tension high. I think of Crouch as this generation’s Michael Crichton. He makes futuristic technology believable and throws people at it to see how they’ll react. If you’re a fan of BC’s recent books you should like this trilogy.
