New Chapter Every Monday! That I promise! ~~~ Prologue:
In a land far away there lived a cruel and greedy prince, he lived in a grandiose castle his parents had passed and he was on the way to becoming king. He was beautiful, even as a child, there was no denying it, the prince had thousands of young suitors but he deemed he was too busy to even consider a romance. It was the bane of his parentâs existence and a part of him wondered if they died of heartbreak in the end. The prince almost felt bad that he felt nothing when they passed, but he knew they thought he was a shameful son who would never live up to a great ruler. He was void of emotion and would never love anything if he could help it.
Until one night everything changed.
Rain slammed against the large windows of the castle, and thunder rumbled in the distance. The prince was sitting in his study, trying to memorize one of his study books, he chewed the end of his pen. A knock resounded on the door of his study and he told them to enter gruffly, taking his glasses off his face.
Phil entered the room and smiled weakly at his old friendâs son, they were always close. If Technoblade had anything to say about it, this man raised him more than his father ever had. âThereâs someone at the door asking to see you,â Phil gave him a pitying smile, âShe wonât leave unless she talks to you. Sheâs a soaking wet, older woman, smaller than Sally.â
âTell her to go away. I donât have time for handouts.â
âMate come on now.â Phil scolded, âtalk to her at least. Please.â
Technoblade heaved an annoyed breath, shoulders sagging, âFine. If itâll shut you up Iâll talk to her and tell her to leave to her face.â Philâs frown only deepened but didnât say anything else against the prince. Technoblade left the room his glorious cape sweeping behind him elegantly, his shoes clicked against the floor. Wilbur and Sally were talking to the old woman at the door, Techno could barely make out that Sally was offering her a nice cup of tea, claiming Puffy made the best cup around.
âSally.â Technobladeâs gruff voice cut through the air like a knife, she flinched shyly leaning against her husbandâs body. Wilbur shot Technoblade a heated glare, âThatâs enough Iâll take it from here.â
âYes, your highness.â Sally bowed, and Wilbur scoffed, if he wasnât Philâs biological son he wouldâve cut out his tongue for that.
âCome on Sally. Letâs head to bed, we still need to tuck Fundy in; you know how he gets when he doesnât get his bedtime story.â Wilbur responded ushering his wife away from the king, he shot Technoblade another glare. He kept his head held eye and sneered back at him before turning to the elderly woman in the doorway.
âI donât hand out charity lady,â Technoblade grumbled arms crossed tightly over his chest, she raised a stark white eyebrow. With shaky hands she pulled her hood down around her neck, her hair was tied up in a tight bun, wrinkled hands came out to grasp Technosâ his nose scrunched up and ripped his hands away. âDonât touch me,â He hissed at her, âYouâre not worthy to lay a hand on me.â
âPlease your highness, I just need a place to stay for the night. I wonât cause you any trouble, Iâm quiet and I can help with chores if need be, Iâm afraid other than that all I have is a single rose I can offer you.â
âI have enough useless staff around her I donât need another to add to the list cripple.â Technobladeâs mind drifted to Ranboo, the young kid who seemed to be allergic to water, if it touched his skin heâd break out in hives. But he was someone Phil considered a son so he could do nothing about it, Ranboo was protected.
âPlease. I have nowhere else to go-â
âGet lost before I kick you out!â He moved to slam the door shut but it stopped seemingly on its own, he brought his eyes up to meet the old womanâs, they were glowing a sharp yellow. Her once old body was replaced by that of a gorgeous young woman, a witch.
âYou fucking cunt. You shouldnât be so deceived by appearancesâ Her harsh voice cut through the air like a knife, her hair was a deep brown, and her dress was a stark gold. Technoblade felt like he should grovel before her and beg for his life, it was the only time he ever felt that way. âYouâre a selfish, money-hungry pig. You donât care about anyone but yourself and youâre incapable of doing so!â She spits, finger pointed a direction, purple mist swirled around his body. The witch only smirked, âif youâre going to act like a beast then you might as well be one.â
The Princeâs beastly howl seemed to stretch well above the wall of the castle and into the town down below.
âWhat was that?â A young blonde boy asked, looking up at his older sister. She put an arm around his shoulder and pulled him close.
âI dunno Tommy, come on away from the window. Didnât Uncle Bad say he was going to teach you sword fighting?â
âOh fuck yeah.â
âLanguage.â
Ten years went by since the young prince was cursed, and the village seemed to forget all about the castle atop the hill. Well, mostly instead of a beautiful royal family residing inside legends tell of a ghastly beast who lived there instead. âTommy! Howâs your sister doing?â
âFuck off Dream.â Tommy snarled fiddling with the scrap metal he bought for his âelytra,â a little winged invention. You see your little brother had a knack for inventing, none of them turned out amazing, but he did make you a grabber so you could reach your books on the top shelf. Currently, he was talking with Dream the village 'tough guy', and according to the girls around town he was ruggedly handsome. Any girl would love to marry him, heâs powerful and drop-dead handsome, not to mention he had money to burn. He was a notorious hunter and could kill anything he set his sights on having it be beast or man.
âWhat? Sheâs still single, right? Youâre not holding out on me are you Tommy?â
âAs if Iâd let anyone near her, especially not you.â He sneered his nose scrunching in displeasure, âOr you George donât get any ideas.â George clicked his tongue and rolled his eyes,
âI donât have any interest in her.â His eyes drifted up to look at Dream who kept his sole attention on Tommy. Tommy caught the look and rolled his eyes,
âWhy donât you just leave her be. She has no interest in the likes of you, Iâd have to approve anyway. So sod off.â
Dream frowned eyebrow twitching, âyou shithead.â He reached out to grab the back of his shirt but stopped short hearing the library door swing open.
âTommy?â You raised a brow of your own, basket filled to the brim with books, âDream.â She frowned distastefully, his name on her tongue left a bitter taste in her mouth. âWhatâre you all doing?â
âJust asking Tommy for your hand in marriage again my dear.â
âEughâŚI wouldnât marry you if you were the last man on earth.â You scoffed placing a hand on your brotherâs back, âletâs go Tommy.â
âFinally you were in there forever! B-O-R-I-N-G!â
You hit him upside the head and he yelped, almost dropping his metals pieces all over the place. âWait before you go!â Dream called out and you flinched as he grabbed his arm, his gloved hand scratching against your skin. You turned to look at him with a harsh glance, âLet me take you out just for tonight.â
âNot on your life. I have plenty of books to keep my company. Come on Tommy show me what youâve got your sights on today.â You pulled Tommy away from the annoying suitor, and his follower if you never saw him again itâd be a blessing.
âIâve never met a more ungrateful woman,â George grumbled glancing up at Dream who had a dazed but longing expression on his face. George could gag at that look, he was so hopeless in love with this woman who couldnât give two shits about him.
âSheâs a spitfire.â Dream mused, its voice was almost a low purr, âIâm going to make that woman my wife.â
âWhatever you say, Clay,â George grumbled and he sent him a look,
âItâs Dream.â
âWhatever.â
~~~
âGod, is that prick ever going to let up with harassing you?â Tommy ranted slamming open the door to your home. You shook your head with a small sigh,
âProbably never, unfortunately,â You murmured setting up your new books on the shelf Tommy grumbled under his breath.
âI want to get you away from here,â He huffed âIâm gonna invent something great! Make so much money and you and I are gonna get out of here, I promise.â You smiled softly to yourself,
âIâd like that.â
Tommy smiled proudly over at you, eyes shining softly in the light of the room, âYou just have to trust me.â âI do trust you, baby brother,â You snorted ruffling his hair fondly, âjust donât get into too much trouble. I wonât always be there to bail you out.â
âI donât need you to bail me out of trouble.â He huffed shoving your hand away, âIâm basically an adult.â
âYouâre seventeen, you dweeb.â You shot back with an eye roll, âIâm still your guardian so for now you still have to listen to me. What do you want for dinner, Iâm thinking mashed potatoes and chicken thighs.â
âFuck yeah that sounds great,â Tommy responded already getting distracted, tinkering with his toys. You looked back over his shoulder and you smiled softly at your baby brother, sure he was brash and loud. He cursed like a sailor more often than not but he was a sweet kid if you got to know him, really tried to put others before himself in his backward way.
The Tommy Way was what you branded it.
You made your way over to the kitchen, the clicking of your shoes filled the house as you pulled out pots and pans to make your meal. You stuck a match lighting the stove, the orange, red and yellow bloomed like a flower over the burner. A smile formed on your lips as you began to hum a song your mother used to sing to you before she passed. You stuck your hands under the sink to wash them, always wash up before you cook, and you felt your mind wandering to your mother. She passed away giving birth to Tommy, you didnât have time to grieve or resent Tommy for taking your mother away from you. You were alone with an infant in your arms with a dead mother, hell you raised the boy ever since he was born. Neither of your fathers were in the picture and that was fine, you raised him fine. Your Uncle Bad helped when he was around, but he soon moved away with his husband and left you both alone.
âI did well.â You whispered almost like you had to reassure yourself, glancing at Tommy over your shoulder. You yelped seeing Tommy nose to nose with you,
âStop daydreaming woman! The waterâs boiling over! Can you do anything without me!â He mused as you turned to look at the stove, he was right, the water was bubbling out of control. You huffed drying your hands on your dress and rushing over to take the pot off the burner, âYou alright?â He asked quietly after a few moments of silence.
âIâm fine Thesus,â a teasing grin was on your face as you reassured him, âglad to know you still care about me.â
âOh fuck off bitch and donât call me that.â
You tossed your head back and laughed with your chest, âas punishment youâre cutting and peeling the potatoes.â He groaned, tossing open the silverware drawer and grabbing a knife to peel it.
Little did the siblings know that this would be the last dinner theyâd have together for a very, very long time.
Tommy was still awake as the grandfather clock in the hall struck twelve, he cursed as he cut his palm on a piece of rusty metal. His eyebrows furrowed together as he hissed, he was out metal. Heâd have to pick up more, and on top of that, some emeralds to he was determined to get this invention to work too. If he could sell it and get you and him out of here, so far away the last thing on your mind would be that asshole Dream and his lackeys. Tommy grumbled looking out the window, it had just started to snow, little pure flurries of white-coated the ground. He was so close to finishing it, so close, he just had to get those supplies he couldnât wait another day. Tommy slipped on his boots and grabbed his backpack from the dining room table, he glanced back at your room. No, he would be fine, heâd make it back way before you awoke.
He put on a giant coat and stepped into the freshly fallen snow, heâs snuck into the castleâs garden millions of times to get the scrap metal. The entire place is abandoned so he had nothing to worry about, tonight heâd just need to sneak in, steal some emeralds and get out. For Tommy itâs an easy endeavor, heâs stolen plenty of things before this, it wouldnât be his first rodeo.
Plus, itâs not stealing if the place is abandoned anyway!
The snow only continued to pick up as Tommy walked through the dark forest. It was falling fast and everything around the snow was completely black, his heartbeat spiked he hoped he could make it home. He paused to look at his footprints, they were completely covered up, he didnât know which way was home.
Forward it was.
Tommy could hear the howls of wolves in the distance and swallowed thickly, he wasnât nervous. He assured himself rubbing his hands together, he could take some wolves. He shivered, his breath coming out in a small foggy puff, Tommy was finally at the gates of the castle. The giant iron fences looked like they expanded into the heavens, he pushed the large gates open and they creaked eerily. Heâd get the metal last considering they were heavy and lugging those back home in the snow was unappealing. He clicked his tongue and made it up the stairs towards the doors of the castle. Tommy wasnât known for his politeness and hospitality, so once he gathered the door was unlocked he made himself at home. There were no lights on, it was just like he assumed, abandoned. Tommy stepped further into the castle and walked around the ground floor trying to find anything that looked like a treasury. He found nothing there and began to climb the stairs, he swore he heard hushed, panicked whispers behind him. Tommy ignored them, he was way too cool to be sitting down and listening to any potential ghosts in the area. By the grace of God he stumbled upon what seemed to be the master bedroom, he opened it without a momentâs hesitation. Inside everything was seemingly tattered beyond repair, he tilted his head to the side amusement on his features.
Someone seemed to have gotten to this room first, he hummed eyes trailing over to the growing red rose in the center of the room.
The rose was trapped inside a glass dome and petals littered the bottom of the container. Tommy wondered if youâd like the rose, you werenât the stereotypical âflower girlâ but you did like to collect them from time to time. But before he could even lay a finger on the glass a large clawed paw grabbed onto his wrist, his entire body went pale.
Tommy was never a boy who would choke on his words, he always had something to say even if it was snarky. But looking up in the direction of what could only be described as a seven-foot beast, teeth curling up from his bottom lip and wrapping up his furry, snout. The beast was some sort of pigman, clothes in tattered royal garb, hair wrapped in a long braid down his back. A golden crown sat on top of his head and it glittered in the slivers of moonlight that entered through the large balcony window. Tommyâs bottom lip trembled and he used his most valuable weapon,
His words.
âWhat the fuck are you, you freakish mother fucker!â
The beast snarled deep in his throat, and his grip on Tommyâs wrist only tightened. He held back a yelp as he breathed steam right in his face, it burned his cheeks turning them a deep red. âIâm the King of this castle and youâll address me as such you whelp.â Teachnoblade hissed, âYouâre trespassing on private property little boy.â
âLittle boy!â He practically shrieked, âIâm seventeen dickhead!â
Technoblade scoffed dragging him out of the room by his arm, âI have enough stuck-up teenagers in my life. I donât need another one, killing you seems to be the only reasonable option. I donât need anyone else running up here.â
âTechnoblade wait.â Tommy saw what seemed to be a human clock peer around the corner, it had a face and looked to be rather uncomfortable. âThis is a child mate...he probably has a family whoâll come looking for him. If you kill him youâre only going to cause trouble for yourself.â The clock explained ticking nervously, he placed his (hands?) on his hips, âAt least throw him in the dungeon for now.â
The Beast, Technoblade, tsked a growl rumbling deep in his throat, âAnd if someone comes to find him?â
âWe put them in the dungeon too then reassess.â
Technoblade nodded dragging a bewildered Tommy down the hall, âHey! Hey! Explain this freaky shit to me you freaky fucks! HEY!â Technoblade slammed opened a large cell and tossed the pale boy inside. He let out a pained groan as he landed flat on his back, the dirt and rocks dug into his palms. âYou bastard Iâll kill you!â He charged the door as Technoblade slammed it shut in his face. Tommy gripped the bars and shook the cage, âYou ugly shithead! Let me out!â Technoblade could only scoff and with a regal swing of his cape he was off, Tommy made sure to curse him out as he left him behind to rot.
The only thing in the cell was a small toilet and a small window, and Tommy only grew more cold and exhausted as the light of morning streamed through the small window. He couldnât help but mentally apologize to his sister, she must be on the verge of a freakout right now.
