A few more unpopular opinions: I prefer more stylized games to realistic stuff, turn based combat isn't outdated, and Samus works better buff than the zero suit look.

Realistic stuff can be alright sometimes, but give me more stylized games!

Not much to say, just give us buff Samus.
I once read an idea of making a Golden Age Superman game, based on when his powers were a bit more limited in the early days. No flight, for example, just leaping tall buildings in single bounds. It could be a period game of sorts and everything. Which I find rather fascinating.
That could certainly work, but I donāt know if thatās the kind of idea DC would ever sign off on, yāknow? āGolden Age Supermanā as you just described him doesnāt really resurface a lot, if ever. I remember when DC did that āBrave New Frontierā animated movie, which leaned on the Golden Age designs, but not necessarily the Golden Age abilities of those characters.
I do think de-powering Superman might work, though. Maybe even turn it in to kind of a Metroid sort of thing, where I dunno, he gets shot with a kryptonite bullet or something and then slowly each of his powers comes back one by one. Weak at first, but then stronger over time, until you hit the end of that game and youāre full power, nearly invincible Superman?
I still donāt know how you make that interesting, though.

I think you can reasonably skip Shadowās game. One, because Sonic Team seems to really wanna forget the whole alien part of Shadowās origin. Two, because you should NOT subject yourself to it. It hasnāt aged well. At all.
i disagree
that game has SOOO much important lore-building on shadow and where he comes from
alsoĀ āhasnāt aged wellā, bruh its a good, FUN game
tbh its in my top 10 sonic games for sure
Oh, I just wanted to let you know, I'm making sure to tag the intro as Mania spoilers!
Thank you so much, Noah! Iām quite dismayed to hear that the PC version will be delayed and I donāt want to be spoiled by the leaks/stuff I havenāt seen up to this point.

Sorry, I was trying to be a bit jokey, but Iām kinda bad at it. ^_^ā
No thatās okay! Iām autistic so Iām terrible at processing jokes, but I totally get it.
Iāve seen that post floating around with the size inconsistencies and animation errors from that show, it was so bad.

Okay but only does Classic Sonic being in Forces hurt that game, but it indirectly caused my biggest (non absent Amy related) problem with Mania! The ending of Mania sucks. Instead of being self contained, impactful, and iconic like every other 2D Sonic, it's just a dumb cliffhanger tie in that I guarantee you Sonic Team forced on the Mania devs. Uuuuugh.
to be fair, at least itās an excuse for the little fucker to be in mania, albeit a super contrived one. still stupid tho. if they do go that route, thatāll just tack mania on as a companion piece, a prequel of sorts, to forces rather than letting it stand as its own, outstanding game.
Sonic Forces is looking pretty meh. With so many other great platformers out this year, Forces is just so boring and meh looking in comparison.

Havenāt seen too much of Forces so iām staying neutral on this. Itāll probably fine though
