Dad Character of the Day

Is everybody seeing this blog okay?

My best guess is it doesn't like the word "dad"? Or too many flesh-toned pixels

I mean for some of them, it might have been the flesh tones (like Kilowog was marked), but some were like... Wildcat and King Butterfly and stuff?

All the posts that were flagged seemed to now be back to normal. But it was weird... half of my posts were missing last night when I was trying to scroll through it all.

I don’t know if that means I need to scroll through again and see if those missing posts were flagged.

Honorable Mention for Dad Character of the Day: Rouxls Kaard

Only reason I don’t put him as Dad Character of the Day is because there’s not a whole lot to go on, unfortunately.

Showcase of a Dad Moment: Might Dai

Okay, I don’t know WHAT is happening to Tumblr because of this fiasco, because I could have sworn that I posted Might Dai previously and him (along with half of my posts I’ve made) have gone missing.

Anyways, good Dad Characters clearly have been passed down in the Might family (To unofficially adopted son Rock Lee). Might Dai has seen his son’s struggles, knows all the pain that he’s going through because of the expectations of what it takes to become a shinobi, but never stops smiling and being goofy for his son’s sake. He pushes his son to realize that there are different ways to set goals: if you can’t complete one goal, set your sights on another. Keep switching your goals until you can succeed one, then you’ll succeed another, and another.

I heard about all the banning hell that’s going on with posts being flagged as inappropriate when they’re not.

I may not be active on here anymore but I’m gonna fight for this blog. This blog was a pure, clean, and positive and I’ll be darned if Tumblr’s horrible system of deeming “adult content” is going to screw it over. I’ve started scrolling and already found Wildcat flagged (and on the reblog remembering Ermey, no less), and I’m going to do what I can to get them unflagged. The blog may not be up and running but I’m gonna preserve it.

Hi guys,

I know it’s been a long time. A verrrrry long time. But unfortunately I’m popping in with some not so cool news.

I think I’m going to quit Dad Character of the Day all together. Let me say it has nothing to do with you guys; you are all super awesome and you were really patient with all my dawdling I did with the day skips and my hiatuses I took. But I’ve kind of realized I wasn’t really good at devoting myself to a daily submission blog, especially when I’m not involved or knowledgeable of a whole lot of franchises. The harder it got for me to find a character, the more I just lost steam and interest. I’m gonna attempt to hop off Tumblr altogether (I had a personal as well that I’ll probably use to follow some artists that aren’t on other platforms but that’s about it), and I’ll be deactivating Dad Character of the Day by this Saturday, Oct. 6th. If someone else wants to snag the URL and keep on going, that would make me happy. I know there’s someone out there who will treat you beautiful folks the way you deserve it.

I’m gonna be taking another break from this blog. Nothing bad has happened, but for the past month I’ve been scraping day by day in order to find a Dad to post. It kind of stinks to have gone through every Dad Character I can think of (and then some, thanks to you lovely people), which I guess is a statement in of itself that we gotta get more Dad Characters in media. And while you guys have absolutely saved my life with suggestions, sometimes I’ll get suggestions on characters but no one follows up with me. I had that one time where someone had suggested like three dads and didn’t throw a wiki link in there. Due to my work schedule, I have to have people send wiki links because I don’t have a lot of good time to search up myself.

Anyways, I’m gonna be taking another hiatus in an attempt to restock up on Dad Characters without freaking out over meeting a quota. Requests are always open (but please PLEASE remember to include a wiki link!).

Oooooookay, I did not know that. Just looked it up and the dude admitted to gross behavior

I won’t delete the entry just because I don’t conflate a fictional character to their actor; THAT BEING SAID, I’m gonna post a disclaimer saying that I’m in no way supporting said actor.
