Holy shit we have the same brain we both have our Viltrumites be creatures omgomgomg WAAA WAAA
mine are a mix of marsupial/mammalian but also raptoric (mainly with feather like growths, but also mammary gland, can you tell I am a biology buff)
I’m jumping you RAHH RAHH RAHH
DON'T TELL ME SOMEONE'S AN ALIEN IF THEY'RE JUST A HUMAN but yeah, give those bastards some creature traits! I do have some AUs where viltrumites have insect-like wings and multiple sexes(more than the typical omegaverse) and ones where viltrumites can turn into essentially space dragons(because dragons are cool and I'm a sucker for shifters) but eye stuff(like tapetum lucidum and a nictitating membrane), extra canine teeth, deep rooted teeth, a more complex voice box(because I like the idea of the viltrumite native tongue being spoken in frequencies humans can't hear and being able to mimic noises/voices to wear down nonviltrumite opponents mentallly), eating rocks and clay if they can't find proper food, denser tissue so they weigh more than they look, prey-drive, scentmarking, their organs and arteries having a thin layer of muscle coating them that immediately constricts when damaged to cut off blood loss, and stripes tend to be things that reoccur often regardless of the AU.
Another thing I like to give viltrumites are lungs more similar to a bird than a human, which is what lets them get more oxygen from the air(useful when traveling planets since there's no way every habitable planet has the same atmosphere) and hold their breath for so long. They also lack drug resistance, since there's very few things that actually work on them so they've never had the need to evolve it(Mark, since he's half human, does inherit the ability to gain drug resistance over time).
I also like to imagine that, while they likely killed off 90%-99% of their native life because they saw it as useless, they did selectively breed certain animals and plants both on Viltrum and on specialized ships. I want to eventually make refs but so far I have:
Hunting beasts are large carnivorous creatures released on planets to clear large swaths of land of fauna or to hunt down and kill targets.
Tracking beasts have three pairs of nostrils: one that's “blank” that can be given a scent so the beast can only smell that scent, one that's sensitive to blood, and one for all smells in general. It usually keeps two of its pairs of nostrils closed. It was bred to track down targets and bring them back to their owner alive.
Herding beasts were used mainly for livestock but have also been used for separating and moving groups and individuals since they've started taking over other planets.
Scouting beasts are falcon-sized flying creatures that shine like mercury. Their job is purely to map out terrain or look for places/people of interest.
Black-headed cattle are large herbivores bred for their meat and fur. Their feet have a pair of dewclaws on either side of their hooves for defense.
Emperor's Bloom a red flower with white stems and leaves. It's pollen, when inhaled, both relaxes the user and gives them hallucinations, sort of like a mix between marijuana and LSD. This pollen was used in the early days of viltrumite civilization by healers and religious leaders. It's leaves can be crushed into a paste that, when mixed with certian roots, acts like a painkiller or a numbing agent. Interestingly, this flower also produces silk.
Emperor Wisps are bee-like insects that are white, black, and red and responsible for pollinating most Viltrum flora. Their honey is a mesmerizing pearlescent silver that can be made into mead.
Blood Pearls are similar to pomegranate seeds and are the seeds of a gourd-shaped fruit called the Viltrum Bell that was commonly hollowed out and used as various types of instruments by ancient viltrumites. The seeds are stored in the bulbous end of the fruit while the slimmer top half is full of fruit. This fruit is sweet with a hint of bitterness and extremely juicy. This fruit is turned into wine, called blood wine, and is one of the few things that can get a viltrumite drunk.
Most of the animals have basic names because I don't see viltrumites coming up with fancy names. This beast hunts therefore it shall be called a Hunting Beast. No guessing games there.
