Stippling!
I was flicking through this book I bought last year and creating textures using the Stippling technique reminded me of the textures I was putting onto my brass and wood samples. This is a great way to make samples without wasting wood and metal, to see what the design looks like with the texture!
I have started to make samples using the tools I have at home. I am using a soldering iron and its range of points to achieve a range of outcomes.
As every part of my final piece/pieces will have a meaning assigned to it, a meaning that reflects my 'connect to nature' concept, Stippling represents seeds and repetition. Another post is to come exploring this more.

after sanding down the walls i then spread it with stain blocker.. as demonstrated in the following video..this then ran out before i covered all the sentences, so instead of wasting time traveling to purchase another can, i resolved the situation by using wall filler, this permanently covered the text and gave a smooth finish. i then painted over this with 3 layers of white paint. when i repainted the walls with my chosen colours i found that i had missed a few sentences, so i covered this with wall filler and then repeated the process again.

when securing my tile design to the ‘fireplace’ i had some difficulties, the fireplace wasn’t to the measurements i set, however i over came this by drilling a piece of wood to the side of the fireplace, so that all the tiles would fit and not over shoot the fireplace. i the had to paint this paint, which required three coats. i also used wall filler for the fireplace to neaten up the edges all around the modal. i used a glue gun to attach the tile to the wood. i am very very pleased with the outcome of how this visually looks and the construction, i could however designed a more intricate pattern that included more Copenhagen features, other then one colour.
i have used a gold vine eye instead of a silver one as the gold complemented the sandy colour of the jam jar lids. each vine eye had the distance of 25cm between them, i didn’t want the lanterns to be too cramped.. i think i got the distance perfect. i made the middle jars 70cm from the ceiling hanging down to eye level..on purpose for the viewing to see my laser cut designs. i used a tape measured for the measurements. The little jars each being the length of 60cm. having previously not been impressed with the jam jar lids, i would now comment that they really suit the colours of the room and have a professional look to them, i think the copper would have looked a bit tacky.

this adaptor needed to be above the false ceiling and out of sight, i needed a hand when securing the false ceiling. we had some trouble with the second piece of false ceiling as it was too big, but then and there the issue was resolved by cutting down 3cm around the edges, it then fit like a glove.david and max the guys who made and helped with the false ceiling had also kept a gap for the wires to run through, this was in the back corner of the room out of sight. after it was completed i neatened the wall up by filling in the edges and filling in were the nails had been screwed in.
