I’m in Richmond, VA for a conference and couldn’t resist taking myself out for afternoon tea at The Jefferson. This historic hotel has a fascinating history I would recommend googling, and I thoroughly enjoyed my tea time beneath the stained glass ceiling. Southern hospitality was evident in every aspect: from the setting, to the portions, to my attentive and engaging waiter. I sampled The Jefferson’s proprietary black tea blend, which was classic and satisfying. The savouries and sweets were all delicious, but I would have preferred a few less carbs. In-season chocolate covered strawberries always have my support, and the mousse cup tasted exactly like a churro, which was a pleasant surprise.
