"Outplaced" sounds pretty angsty, especially with the note of past ZeRoyalChaos (this makes me scared). Can you tell more?

Outplaced is angsty ngl! This is technically from my old 2014 dragon au and the story is meant to connect it to my new dragon au and setting. It’s about Chilled’s struggle after losing his whole flight, including his mate Ze, and how he’s desperately trying to come up with ways to fix it. Resurrection? Magic artefacts? Turn back time? He's ready to do and sacrifice everything he has left.
Eventually he remembers some old conversations with Ze, theorising about the possibility of a multiverse. Chilled never really understood the science of it but he was always more than happy to let Ze bounce his experiments and ideas off of him, and the idea of a multiverse was something Ze had been really passionate about. This leads Chilled to go through Ze’s old scrolls and research, and after some struggles, many trials and errors, a whole lot of time, and his unwavering resolve to see his mate again, he does manage to complete Ze’s equations.
This of course only leaves the issue of finding, getting rid of, and taking the place of the Chilled in the new universe he’s entering. But that’s nothing a little bit of mind magic and some poison can’t fix!
Don't Waste My Time takes place some time after Outplaced, at which point Chilled has started to find his place within the new universe but is still learning about things (things like classes, bonds, and flights that I use for my saurian dragon setting are all new to him), but this is when he finally meet Ze!
It’s bonding at first sight, which is kind of rare for adult dragons. Chilled is absolutely ecstatic, this Ze looks a little bit different from his old one, but it’s still very much Ze and he’s existed and so very emotional, and just barely able to keep it all underwrap. He still comes on a little bit too strong to Ze, who is intrigued by the sudden bond but a little overwhelmed with Chilled being, well, Chilled.
The narrative is mostly Ze and Chilled getting to know each other, while both of them are also unknowingly doing reconnaissance about the same magic artefact for their respective flights. It’s a lot of Chilled seeking out and approaching Ze at the most inconvenient moments, Ze kind of getting fed up with him, but also the two of them unknowingly helping each other out. Eventually they realise they’re after the same thing, team up, and Ze starts warming up to Chilled as they work together almost flawlessly once they’re on the same page :D
