Where Love Runs Wild?
An excellent choice!
This is going to be my Juniper/Rolan fic that spans the entire game, perhaps a little after as well. I'm unsure at how long it'll be. I'm writing based on vibes alone so it could end up long as hell.
A snippet of the first chapter:
The Druid’s Grove stunk. It wasn’t because of the flowers which, if Rolan sat and inhaled their scents, were mildly pleasant. No, it stunk of mud, an earthy scent that clung to your clothes and got into your boots and was difficult to wash from fabric. The Grove smelled of smoke from the campfires in the caves, the fumes trapped beneath the rock and making the air thick. It smelled of body odor from dozens of people milling about in tight corridors, with little privacy and opportunity for bathing after days on the road. And then there were the animals that inhabited the place. He’d complained enough to his siblings that they’d already tuned him out, opting to instead aid Ikaron and Asharak in training some of the other tieflings to fight in their spare time. Which they had plenty of since they refused to leave and continue on, the rest of the refugees be damned. “It’s going to take weeks to get the smell out of my robes.” He muttered, stomping his boots against the side of a rock, dislodging dried mud from the soles. “Afraid the stench is going to scare off your fancy wizard?” Lia mocked, restringing her bow with whatever she managed to haggle off of the druid trader, Arron. Rolan rolled his eyes, refusing to be baited into another pointless argument when Lia didn’t understand. She didn’t realize how lucky they were that Lorroakan had chosen him to apprentice. As a great wizard, Master Lorroakan could’ve chosen anyone but instead, gave his favor to a tiefling from Elturel. He wasn’t going to squander their future for a group of people who were practically dead already.
