Sorry for the long post: This week has been crappy in the running world (& yes that's tape on my left knee & continues down my leg). Multiple visits to the message therapist, chiropractor x 2, & physical therapy to help the nerve/muscular pain I've been feeling mid run (& more booked for the next few weeks). Yes, surgery can fix injuries, but I never thought almost a year later I would have to retrain my body to run correctly. Earlier this week a teammate posted about pace and it really hit home. Since I deferred my 26.2 last March due to my injury, I am now registered to run it this year. The stress of a BQ or certain pace started to define me as a runner. The inspiration from this teammate's post Inspired me to realized I am a strong, motivated, driven, & hopefully inspiring runner. I was nervous to share on social media that my body is still not 100%, but decided that maybe it would inspire someone else who is going through the same thing. It's ok if people post mostly positive things and their training seems on point, but for some of us the struggle is real. So BE REAL! Not every run in pain free and there are hiccups that happen. My husband @train.race.repeat can vouch for the various times I've broken down in the middle of a run. New goal = get to Tobacco Road healthy! 🤗 #oisellevolée #oiselleteamnc @nc_volee #TeamCEP @cepcompression Side note: this is pic was taken today with my bf @whitsim who is an amazing mom to the cutest twin boys B&G! She is super fierce! 💪🏻
