It made sense to have it in season 9 since the lip syncs that season were lackluster overall and there’s like 3 that season where both queens equally tried as hard to stay. So finale was set up that way to be a reminder to how important lip syncs are. However, the lip syncs in season 10-13 that lip syncs have been overall really good with only a handful of bad or meh lip syncs. It just doesn’t make sense to punish the top 4 when the lip syncs have been this good.

I’m happy with Symone winning, but I hate the way she won. It was pretty clear the second Kandy won her lip sync that either Symone or Gottmik were winning. Then when Symone won her lip sync, the rest of the finale was just us waiting for 20 minutes for them to say Symone won. If this was done in the old finale format with a top 3 of Symone, Rosé, and Gottmik, it would’ve been tense the entire time since all 3 of them did really well and would have an equal chance of winning. But since Symone’s 2 biggest competitors were out the way round one, it was pretty obvious she was gonna win.
